Default "Top" Clubs trying to form a super league again?

The so called top clubs has a secret meeting where it is alleged they were discussing a cosy closed European league where no member could be relegated from. Whatever your thoughts about Leicester, they have shown this season that the idea that only a select few clubs should be members of this elite group is ridiculous. As usual, money is the force driving this idea, but I can't see fans standing for it. What do people on here think?

If it means that the leagues they leave behind have more competition, go for it. Good riddance to them.

Amazing that this is all being set up by a Yank. It's got nothing to do with competition and everything to do with money. Closed shop leagues will become a bore fest very quickly.

Can't help wondering why Liverpoo are being considered in these plans. They haven't been a top club for 30 years now. Funnily enough, Man City were fuck all until 4 yeaqrs ago as well.

Let them get on with it. When it all blows up in their faces 5 years down the line they can rejoin the football league at the bottom of the pyramid.

    Get the c*nts fucked off.

Slap a wage cap of 10/wk on the entire league and reduce ticket prices.

    Allow tackling.

Legalize & tax marajuana & prostitution.

    Sorted.

Is this the solution for football in general, or just for our club?

Add to that after a few years they fail to make the impact and financial gains expected and demand to be reinstated into the top flight. Only for them to be fucked off by all and sundry. Hahahahahaha it would make my year

Because they are massively supported by a bunch of glory supporting idiots..... My mate is a season ticket holder at anfield and as a thankyou for lending cash to a business partner, she brought him a corporate ticket. For the £140 cost of the ticket he got a bowl of scouse in a pub down the road from the ground, a programme and a ticket in the main stand.... He said there were loads of folk doing it and most were day trippers, cameras, autograph book and foreign accent.

Let the Scouse into Europe permanently and they'll make Das Reich Division's record on mass killing look trivial

Day trippers mate, them and genuine scouse supporters are two different things.... One pays over the top for his ticket, one goes over the top without a ticket

I'm past caring. Got no interest in the Prem or Champions League and know little about both.

I nearly threw up reading that.

Makes you despair. What a pile of shit it's all become.

To be honest I'm beginning to lose interest in football altogether.

These so-called "Top Clubs" care nothing for the traditions, history and culture of the game.

They are merely trying to milk the sport for every penny they can get, alongside their broadcast partners.

If this happens it'll be a sad day for football.

They've already sold their soul Chris, and their fans along with it. They couldn't care less about traditions.
I don't even recognize some of them clubs anymore.

It all seems part of destroying the beautiful game. Now well and truly followed by plastic nodding sheep and donkeys who are bewitched and brainwashed by it all.

    Fuck the lot of 'em.

I'll do it "my way" as Sinatra used to belt out.

Its gonna get worse as well once their new stand is done apparently as the catering will go inhouse. He said it was rammed as well so if folk keep paying it they will cobtinue charging it.

One of his clients is london based with his own business based just outside liverpool. They needed to have a meeting so enquired about going halves on a box for 10 of them for the liverpool spurs game, they were quoted 11 grand for the one game. To put that into context i do believe you can get a box at ours for the season for 11 grand plus vat for 8 people.

You can't celebrate tradition when you believe football only started in 1992
