There'll only ever be one Brian Clough

I just wonder if folk would embrace him like they do/did Clough, and how such an achievement would be viewed in today's game?
The thing with Clough is it was never just about him being a fantastic manager, and all the trophies and titles he won, it was that extra element, that charisma, that unique personality that made him a legend.

No success for 20 something years, statue outside spoons on the square for Warbs if he gets us in the big league.

Statue of Warbs riding the Left Lion, whilst firing a Robin Hood-style bow and arrow at a Derby fan.

Which is one of the reasons I ask the question.

There was definitely something extremely special about Clough. I was just thinking how brilliantly Warbs has done so far, how he's ticked a LOT of boxes (style of play, playing academy products, great interviews etc.) and whether that could theoritically ultimately match up to Clough

    Massive ask I know

If Warburton lasts just 1/3 of the time Clough did it'd be a miracle worthy of a film in it's own right!

Think that's a cracking observation & as good a reason as any as to why we should be reluctant to draw any comparisons.

Mark Warburton though, how can you not want this guy to prevail with his approach to the game. Found his stuff compelling viewing so far & long may it continue.

Happy to give the opposition a sniff with attacking play of this quality.

Bollocks. Cloughie's career achievements pale into insignificance compared to Billy's play off win at Derby. Billy was also a better goalscorer!! All hail the King.

And has 46.4 win percentage, to put that in perspective Davies only had 42 per cent
