It only takes a second to score a goal.

Getting Vydra is simply too good to be true given our position.

If Antonio is definitely off, then a deal should be done with Watford

My guess is Antonio is going to Watford and this is part of the deal.

Better than him going to the sheep...

Vydra is far too good to play for a club whose short-term ambition is solely to write off debt and 'stabilize', which according to my understanding, means 'be a barely average Championship side.'

If Dougie's not careful he's gonna get fans thinking this is a top 6 squad again.

Surely this is too good to be true?

If Antonio was to go anywhere, this would be a win/win situation!

With Reid and Cohen not far away, the signing of Ebecilio and the emergence of the young guns, we are over supplied in the midfield.

    Strikers on the other hand......

Watford look like having a problem with their squad, so they might be worth a look regards loans.

For the PL, you have to register a 25 man squad and (I think) 8 of them have to homegrown. Currently they've got over 20 non-homegrown players. Some of whom will either need to be moved or rot in the ressies for a year.

If this were to happen, it would suggest that FFP has been the best thing to happen to us for years because it has forced the club to be bold and imaginative and to think the unthinkable.
Even if it doesn't happen, the idea tells us that DF and Fawaz, for all their foibles, are capable of thinking seriously about what it might actually mean to be contenders in this league. That alone is a ray of light.

Is it too much to ask to keep Antonio and have Vydra?

No chance of this unless Antonio is going the other way and I don't thin WFC are interested in him.

We can't pay a loan fee and we can't contribute more than 10k a week wages so unless Watford are feeling particularly charitable it can't happen.

He will go out on loan but not to us.

Sounds like it's unlikely to move forward given DF comments to Radio Nottingham saying they are looking to sell not loan. Considering Andre Gray is going to Burnley for £9m I'll be surprised if someone doesn't take a punt on him as he'd be much cheaper and is at least twice the player Gray is.

Possibly same part exchange structure deal as the Jukebox hero deal with Lansbury.

seems unlikely when he only signed a 5 year contract 6 weeks ago

I am sure I saw it as a direct quote from DF on BBCRNS twitter feed earlier so it's either gone or I've been seeing things.

If he has signed a 5 year deal only 6 weeks ago you could argue why they would be wanting to loan him out also, it's not like he's a young player they're looking to develop. He might only be 23 but he's pretty well established for them.

In fact just found the tweet, was actually Paul Taylor saying "Few things worth noting from #nffc press conf: Vydra unlikely as Watford want to sell..." so feel free to take it up with him or whoever said this at the press conf to the press.

I was under the impression it was a deal for antonio? Watford gain a vital homegrown player, add a great player to their squad and remove one of the players they wouldn't register in their 25 man squad. We get vydra permenently, a great striker at this level. It seems to make sense for both parties.

It would be very questionable if Vydra signed from Udinese on a permenant this summer and was immediately sold. Pozzos moving around their assets and deciding the income would be more beneficial on Watford's balance sheet.

There's a video of Dougie saying as much.

Very questionable of course, but not illegal - currently anyway.

Would take Vydra in a deal for Antonio. Doubt it will happen.
