Default We need a new stadium to be successful

As the title says I think we need a big, new modern stadium to be successful. Pack it to the rafters every week and that can be the platform for success.

The city ground holds so many bad memories now that increasingly it's a depressing environment and drags us down.

    We need a fresh start.

    I ask:

Who's going to pay for it?

    Where do you put it?

The council won't even entertain investing in one, Because the FA name is still muck with Fifa and the Council have already paid out for a new tram Phase 2 network.

I see your idea etc but i can't see Fawaz financing for a new stadium unless he gets Government help from Kuwait. Like The £500m naming rights.

Would be interesting if 2018 / 2022 were up for grabs.

Would it go to Leicester or Derby?

Well they originally went with Nottingham because Nottingham had more to offer as a city.

Quite simply we need better players and a decent manager to be successful. We have been successful at the current stadium before.
This is like saying we need chunkier chips in the cafes to have a decent cup run.

This. Fill the old girl every game and we can reconsider. Until then best hope is a new main stand.

Only one of the many reasons clubs opt for new stadiums.

Sooner or later the two old stands are going to need replacing. Really they are both well past their best before date and showing their age - many clubs have found it's cheaper and easier to move than to mend and make do.

Changing the actual playing surface might be more beneficial the amount of injuries our club sustains on it.

We need to stop sacking decent managers and stop signing half arsed players.

Our local Council would love it if we fucked off from the current site, so they can get their hands on that prime land on the river bank of the Trent.

Trouble is, the councils - city, Rushcliffe and County - were only interested in supporting the proposed move to Gamston because they wouldn't have to pay for it.

They want rid of Forest, but are unwilling to assist financially with any relocation or new ground. And any such council funded involvement would probably mean a ground-share with County.

    I'd rather stick.

I haven't even read the posts in this thread but as far as I'm concerned moving from the CG would be absolute madness. I think it's fairly obvious why that would be the case.

    Change stadium
    Sack off the badge
    Change shirt colour
    Fill the Trent
    Sack Terry the kit man
    Smash up the trophy room

    Guaranteed success

They wouldn't have given a 90 year lease if they wanted to get their hands on the land.

And the land certainly isn't prime

Not prime? Next to the Trent and close to the city. . . ?
