I was talking to someone last night who has just applied for her S1 form and they are still sending them out.
I do like the government website that says it's probably best to follow their guidelines and then tell you next to nothing because they don't really know either.

On this occasion the Daily Mail did sum up the situation last night very succinctly.

"Huffs were taken and miffery was widespread: QUENTIN LETTS on a 2nd XI game in the Commons."

Just when you thought Boris was the biggest tit in the Johnson family, his sister gets hers out live on Sky News to "aid the Brexit discussion".

What is going on? Another vote last night (I’ve no idea what for) and still may bumbles on. Is Corbyn right? Is she just running down the clock so her deal is the only choice.

Running down the clock and lobbying on both sides of the House until the "deal" that was agreed long ago behind closed doors is the only choice.

It was a non-binding vote to test support for her deal, should she somehow get the EU to agree to removing/diminishing the backstop.

So her deal isn't going to pass even if she does, is essentially the crux of it, which everyone knew immediately back last summer the moment it was announced.

Of course, May has once again completely ignored this and is continuing "discussions with the EU" despite it being utterly obvious to everyone that she is wasting her time. The EU won't agree to it and have said that from the beginning, and the UK parliament won't vote for it even if they did.

It's a complete farce at best and brinkmanship with millions of peoples' lives at worst.

Reminds me of this great Cricketing sledge:

Mark Waugh (Australia) and James Ormond (England)

Upon Ormond’s arrival at the crease Mark Waugh said . “fuck me, look who it is. Mate, what are you doing out here? There’s no way you’re good enough to play for England.”

Ormond replied: “Maybe not, but at least I’m the best player in my family.”

It isn’t really a viable deal though is it? For anyone

    Nope it isn’t.

But for May, this whole process isn’t about getting the best deal for the people of the U.K., it’s about her trying to keep the Conservative Party in one piece.

That’s her main aim. Anything else is secondary. The Conservative Party don’t give a flying fuck about the people of the U.K., they never have.

Frankly if the U.K. had proper proportional representation, then the ERG could have fucked off and formed their own „we hate
the EU“ Party alongside that idiot Farage, and campaigned on that platform.

That would have left the remainder of the Conservatives to campaign for (either) Remain or a soft-Brexit.

That depends on what the future brings and how the UK, the EU and the other member states deal with that future.

Britain has always had closer cultural and political ties to the USA and old Victorian colonies than it ever has with the EU. The US will continue to be major world power for the foreseeable future and countries like India and Australia are on the rise.

Ah yes Monaco? That convenient Tax Haven "WITHIN the EU" that the very wealthy usually end up in. I don't see Tusk and Barnier rushing to shut it down.

    Well, because they can’t?

Monaco is a Self-governing principality; one that sets its own taxation rates.

It does levy income tax, just at the rate of 0%.

The EU have no more authority to dictate taxation policy to the Monaco government than they do to those other well-known tax havens like the British Virgin Islands, Bermuda and the Isle of Man.

Monaco isn't in the EU. Just the euro zone and Schengen via France.

The EU has tried to pass tax haven reform. UK blocks it, repeatedly.

"European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker helped block measures to curtail tax avoidance during his time as prime minister of Luxembourg, according to leaked documents.
German diplomatic cables leaked to German radio group NDR reportedly describe how Luxembourg railed against efforts to crack down on tax avoidance schemes under Juncker's stewardship.

Shared with the Guardian newspaper and the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, a Washington-based club, earlier this week, the cables show the inner workings of the so-called code of conduct group on business taxation."

Doesn't look like the EU elite hate tax avoidance that much?
So Monaco is linked to the Eurozone via France and the UK is somehow the problem? Yeh right? Put the monkey where it belongs the Tax avoidance in Monaco is more about the EU than the UK.
