He's been hear 4 years, scored about 4 goals with 6 assists. He's been in & out of sides a level down from us.

What a sad indictment on our recruitment policy it would be if Ward found his way back into a first team shirt.

I don;t think many youngsters would naturally be exposed to the kind of niggle Jamie brings to his game. There's a learning point there.

Suppose it’s the nature of the market. Clubs feel compelled to offer long contracts beyond what a player can perform at that level for. Don’t offer them and they’ll go elsewhere. Ward has had his day but he has always put a shift in while wearing our shirt.

He won't get a new contract so he has 3 months to make his mark, if selected, to help him move on.

I don't understand this idea of writing players off. He has far more experience of the Championship than the latest batch of new arrivals.

If he stays injury free and can add something, perhaps coming off the bench in the last 20 minutes, surely that's to be encouraged?

Iím sorry if Iíve got this wrong, but are you suggesting that Jamie Ward would fit into a Leeds, Norwich or Sheff U system? Or that his style of play aligns with their style of play?

That his style of play aligns with theirs.

I don't think he's good enough for Forest, let alone any of the top 3, but I could see MON considering him if he was fit, he's a niggly workhorse used to the rough and tumble of the Championship unlike Carvalho or many of our other foreign imports.

Don't much care for the sheep shagging twat, but he's a busy little bastard who gets the opposition rattled.

    That's ideal in some games.

For me, he plays in a position where I don't particularly want to see a grafter.

I'd hope we could aim for a little better than someone whose main attributes are running around and managing to get away with fouling the opposition.

Yeah, Sheep shagging cnuts like Archie Gemmill who helped us win the League. What a bastard.

Or that Sheep Cnut Brian Clough. Or Peter Taylor, or that Sheep shagger John McGovern. Or that Sheep Cnut John OíHare who helped us win the penalty in the League Cup final.

Or more latterly that Sheep shagging bastard Earnshaw. What a Cnut.

Ward is a limited player, befitting of our league status in recent seasons, but his energy and workrate helped keep us up a couple of years ago, and Iíll always remember his winner away at Boro.

I doubt heíll get in the squad but heís th kind of grafter that Martin would value.

He’s here until end of May, he did the job that was asked of him and we’ve bought better, but I agree, he’s the kind of player that gets in others faces and works his nuts off, yep, not the most skilled and now a lower champ or Div 1 player. But if any of that graft rubs off on the foreign players or better still our academy players then that has to be a positive.

We can’t afford Messi or similar, some on here need to get real, until we are real challengers for a top 6 place we are only going to attract prospects or those after one last big pay day!

He's a dougie type of player, so MoN should have no problem with using him maybe in the last 20 minutes as someone to make the other teams back four even more tired. He isn't good enough to start tho. Bricutt, he still has a chance of getting into the team as he is a decent player, just not an aitor player I guess.

In fairness to Dougie, he didn't do that bad a job under the circumstances. The football was dour though.

Brynn Gunn and I still like dougal, his team being average was 95% not his fault and I loved that man.

What circumstances were those? Don't think he ever mentioned them?
