I feel sorry for whoever presents this new show for being blamed because we are not on first every week.

With adverts will this means the highlights are shorter?

Does this start next season? It would explain why Manish thanked Leroy for the last six years.

    Yes it does.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

"The Football League's Chief Executive, Shaun Harvey, said: “This is an exceptional opportunity for The Football League to work with a broadcaster that will schedule our matches in a prime-time slot. It will take our games to a wider, younger audience by giving us the chance to be first in front of fans on a Saturday night.”

Bit of a dig at the BBC there, who have traditionally screened it as a bit of an "add on" after MOTD at some ridiculous hour.

They obviously have very short memories.

Remember what happened when ITV tried to show PL highlights in an early evening slot ? Not the most successful thing they've ever done

If Steve Claridge isn't on it then that's a plus point for me

Standby for Richard Bacon or whoever wins the next Big Brother to be announced as presenter.

FFS. Manish did a decent job, should have left it alone. It doesn't matter what time it's on because most people record it anyway.

I wonder if data like that is reflected in viewing figures; i.e. do they take into account how many people record the programme as opposed to watch it

We'll never be the featured match. Everybody knows Channel 5 hate Forest.

The BBC have traditionally had something better than Football League highlights to show at 9pm on Saturday night.

I'd be fine with Richard Bacon presenting it. He is a knowledgeable guy, and he is from Mansfield. However, he is now in the states so can't see him coming back for this show.

Will be interesting to see who they get to present it.

This is a good idea I think, there'll be more coverage of the football league, potentially live games too! I'd take the earlier time as well, if I'm not out on Saturday night it's better that it's on earlier.

Tongue firmly in cheek I presume. He's is from Mansfield but he's a bellend who claims to support Forest but freely admits he cares nothing for football at all.

In all seriousness Channel 5 will go for cheap or tits. Cheap with tits would be a bonus. Perhaps it will be Neville Southall.

I don't really worry what Channel 5 will do to the coverage; They don't have anyone daft presenting or punditing the cricket highlights - it's by and large some of the same people on BBC radio.

I really do not care much either way. I'm non more likely to sit through 90 minutes of mostly games I don't care about at 9pm than I currently do at midnight.

No I'll still record it and watch a small portion of it on sunday. The fact that it is on earlier will have zero effect on me. I don't care even who presents it. Manish doesn't bother me, nor does Claridge or Rosenior. Not worried who replaces them on C5 because I don't put it on to listen to them.

I hope it's Clarkson, Hammond and May.

Tend to agree with most posters. I shall record it, watch games that interest me and will worry more about the number of cameras at games and the quality of commentators than the presenter. Pundits are universally rubbish so no change there.

I think FLS has been good, will be a pity that they're not showing it anymore.

Channel 5 are bound to go for a woman presenter I think. Or Mark Pougatch.

The adverts will be annoying, and I reckon they probably won't have a 'featured' game, and give the same amount of time to all games. The positive thing is they are showing every goal, which 'The Championship' on ITV didn't do years ago.

Hopefully they or BBC don't do anything silly like ensure the final 15 or so minutes of Channel 5 clashes with MOTD.
