    Default Next Seasons Championship

I'm a little bit bored so forgive me for looking ahead already!

We now know we have Bristol City & MK Dons with us next season. I expect both of them to do well - Bristol could be a good shout for a top 6 spot.

From the Premiership I think Burnley & QPR are practically down. And with Sunderlands last couple of games against Arsenal & Chelsea I suspect they might be joining them.

Playoffs wise I think Norwich will do it. They'll see off a stuttering Ipswich before beating Boro in the final. League 1 wise I think Preston are far better than any of the other 3 sides and should get up despite the disappointment of missing out on the automatics.

    So potentially I've got it down as;

    1. Birmingham
    2. Blackburn
    3. Bolton
    4. Brentford
    5. Brighton
    6. Bristol City
    7. Burnley
    8. Cardiff
    9. Charlton
    10. Derby
    11. Forest
    12. Fulham
    13. Huddersfield
    14. Ipswich
    15. Leeds
    16. Middlesborough
    17. MK Dons
    18. Preston
    19. QPR
    20. Reading
    21. Rotherham
    22. Sunderland
    23. Sheffield Wednesday
    24. Wolves

Looks like a competitive division as always.

    Early (very very early!) predictions;

    Top 6

    Burnley
    Sunderland
    Bristol City
    Derby
    Middlesborough
    Blackburn

    Relegation

Other than Rotherham I really can't call it, QPR could do a Wigan unless they sort themselves out.

I think we'll be finishing about 13th/14th again. Of course so much can and will change - this is purely speculative nonsense

17th for us at a very speculative guess, obviously hoping for far better.

I'm becoming the Prophet of doom !!

Wonder why I'm getting like that??

That looks like a very competative league indeed, a lot of good teams in there!

It really is impossible to predict next season this ealy. I would suggest if and its a big if we can keep Reid, Cohen and Hobbs etc fit for 75% of the season and make some astute signings then there's no reason why we can't challenge at the business end of the table.

    ------------- DDV---------------

    Lichaj----Manc--Hobbs-----New Lb

    -----Cohen----Osborn----

    Burke---- Reid-------Antonio?

    ---------New striker

This is based on Antonio and Lansbury staying which is far from guaranteed but with the likes of Dex, Walker, young Burke, Fryatt, Laing, poss Mackie? Etc.

We certainly need a little bit of depth with a new keeper, centre back, left back and striker being priority.

I like the look of that team. I'd like to see Paterson really kick on next season and be able to play when Reid isn't.

So far looks like 1 north (Burnley) & 1 south (QPR) down. With the last spot between north (Sunderland, Newcastle, Hull) & midlands (Leicester, Villa).

2 South (Watford, Bournemouth) going up +
CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY-OFFS : East (Norwich, Ipswich), North (Middlesbrough), south (Brentford)

    3 relegated : 2 north (Wigan, Blackpool) & 1 south (Millwall)

2 south (Bristol City (south west), MK Dons) promoted +
LEAGUE 1 PLAY-OFFS : 2 north (Preston, Sheffield Utd), 1 midlands (Chesterfield), 1 south (Swindon)

So with 9 out of 12 places decided.

Net effect : same south, 1 less north ?

There is your Geography lesson gents

You wouldn't start Assombalonga? He's a must for me, and I think had he not gotten injured the season might still be going for us.

We probably won't see him until Feb/March time and even then it will probably take him a while to regain sharpness.

Reid & Cohen put a totally different perspective on things. A full season out of them & we become competitive again. Their fragility requires a plan b though, personally id put Cohen at LB & recruit another DM to work with Reid & Osborn in advanced central midfield. Need another striker for cover.

Playoffs is not difficult to achieve in this league, you can be bang average and still make the play offs. So play offs minimum.

The Mackems will not be in this league. The Toon Army are in freefall.

At least we know we can put a couple past Darlow.

There's so many reasons I don't even know where to begin.

My prediction at the moment is for us to come 16th, but that could change based on the summer we have.

If QPR are relegated don't they get a "Got jail; go directly to jail; do not pass Go; Do not collect £200 from the Football League?

Not sure it'll be that easy for Norwich in playoffs. Can see Bristol and MK Dons doing well. Tough though again with likes of Burnley and QPR coming down. We'll probably be mid table if we're lucky

Oh, promotion again, this time via the play offs. Always the dramatic way to do it and so satisfying at Wembley (so I'm told!).

Please, please, please. People on here are so sad, please win promotion to cheer them up (and me).

Technincally yes, however they have more than enough clout to challenge it. Which could have a domino effect and severely complicate our own FFP situation; but potentially in a positive way.

Without wanting to sound pessimistic I'd say top half of the table would be a good result.

People keep talking about Reid, Cohen and Hobbs but all the evidence tells us they'll be lucky to be off the injury table come November.

We need to stop hanging our hats on them.

If we thought this season was a tight league, next season will get that much tighter. There are now even more teams that could all surprise and do a Bournemouth.

The teams that have come up in recent years tend to do well...... As always consistancy is the key to getting out this league..... Unfortunatly we are just consistanty shit.

Well at least in that respect we are dealing with it properly rather than cheating our way out of it.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“
