Default PFA Team Of The Year

Somehow the bloke with the most goals from a non-striker and third most assists overall isn't in the team of the year.

So Championship Player of the Year, Patrick Bamford isn't deemed good enough for team of the year.

The 2001 European Player of the Year Michael Owen didn't get in the PFA team of the Year for 2000/01 or 2001/02, or win any Player of the Year awards for those seasons!

But Bamford is being judged on the same season in both cases I suppose, and hasn't been scoring goals for England in Munich either! Maybe just goes to show again how even the Championship is (for players as well as teams)?

Keogh? Not just because he plays for Derby, but every time I've seen him he's been poor. I'm not saying our defenders should be in there, but not Keogh! Daniel Ayala surely should be in.

The Derby fans can't understand that one either.

Sorry but that team is about right (besides Keogh), I know we only watch Forest every week but none of our players deserved to be in there.

Sako, Pritchard and Ritchie have been outstanding and deservedly ahead of Antonio.

Good as they've been, how have any of them earned their spot over Antonio?

A lot more consistent, especially the latter two. Pritchard will probably be a part of the Spurs squad next season while Ritchie won't look out of place in the Prem I shouldn't imagine.

Pritchard has 11 goals and 7 assists, not as good as Antonio in either regard. How do you know he's been more consistent? Sake doesn't match up to Antonio either.

Former Forest selections. Only Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs & Leeds have more top flight selections than us since it started in 73/74. Everton/Man City still behind us.

    First Division/Premier League

    77/78 SHILTON, ROBERTSON
    78/79 SHILTON, ANDERSON
    79/80 SHILTON, ANDERSON, BIRTLES

    90/91 PEARCE, WALKER
    91/92 PEARCE, WALKER
    92/93 KEANE
    95/96 STONE

    2nd division/Championship

    73/74 MCKENZIE
    76/77 ROBERTSON
    93/94 COOPER, GEMMILL, COLLYMORE
    97/98 COOPER, VAN HOOIJDONK
    02/03 DAWSON, JOHNSON
    03/04 REID
    09/10 CAMP, GUNTER
    10/11 MORGAN

It's not all about goals/assists tally. It's about how you contribute to the overall team's play. I would rather have Sako/Pritchard/Ritchie in my team than Antonio, let's take our Forest tinted glasses off here.

No Forest-tinted glasses at all, i'm not advocating picking anyone else after all. However, you're saying he's been more consistent away from the stats sheet but in honesty do you really watch Brentford often enough to judge? Antonio however has been the best player on the pitch so damn often it's ridiculous and it's nearly-impossible to be a bigger part of the play than he is for us.

Sako by the way is exactly the same type of player as Antonio but has produced the same goals and half the assists. Why exactly do you take him over Antonio?

I guess our collection of 1977/78 PFA Player of the Year (Shilton) FWA Player of the Year (Burns), PFA Young Player (Woodcock), PFA Team of Season member (Robertson) and Match of the Day Goal of the Season (and arguably goal of the World Cup too for Archie Gemmill, vs Arsenal and Holland respectively) must be hard to be beat for one season too.
Even among those 6 teams with more players in the Teams of Seasons overall.
