Pearce, Woan, Roy 2, Collymore 2 Bohinen at Wedneday

    Mannini, Petrachi, Matrecano - Italians.

Bonhinen refused to play against France I think?

David Johnson - last to score 20 league goals in a season?

    Independiente play in Forest colours

    Harry Wightman - first boss

Wally Ardon has most in a season - 30-something

Sam Weller Widdowson invented the shin pad

Brian, Trickey tree, You've Lost That Loving Feeling

Clough cored a four minute hat trick against QPR (but also was somewhere close to that at Coventry in the League Cup)

Charlie George and Kenny Burns in the European Super Cup.

I think the Baggio headline was maybe at the time of the Silenzi signing? But I've seen it argued on here that it was earlier.

Chris Cohen is "Bowers", due to his resemblance to Dane Bowers, a pop singer of some sort.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

Most goals in the Premier League is interesting.

Collymore only had a season. Roy wasn't very good after Collymore left. Stone and Woan must close. Pearce and Cooper are the only other two I could think would be there

We've played five seasons, so I'd be tempted to say Woan. He was scoring in at least the four of them and possibly made double figures in 95-96.

    C - Random guess - Argentinos Juniors?

    F - Steve Sutton - I guess it's what you call a 'lazy' eye?

I - Inkling - Bily Walker was the first proper one?

    M - Barcelona

Those are the ones I'm having a stab at that haven't been answered (plus an alternative to Independiente) - I agree with the others I think, and Silenzi came in the same (pre)season Baggio was rumoured to so I'd guess that's the answer.

I'm not saying I knew ones like Cohen/Bowers or would have remembered the fanzine names though (Tricky Tree was in mind though, and maybe there's another not named yet?).

But Clough QPR, the Sheffield Wednesday scorers, Bohinen nuclear testing etc are ones I'd have answered the same. And I'd have similar thoughts on the top PL scorer - maybe I'd stick with Collymore though, but Woan is a good idea.

Oh, I guess Wightman is right for the manager - sorry, I missed than answer. I'd assume it's come from memory and I don't think Walker would precede him if he was indeed a Forest manager.

B - Frank Forman and his brother?

I spent a lot of time looking at Forest history during the 5 aside and Goal threads (not forgotten about that poll). Harry Wightman was the first official manager, but there were coaches before him.

Yeah, I must've noticed the coaches and the fact we'd not had a proper manager for a while, but didn't have any names to call on pre Billy Walker.

I've not cheated and checked it now obviously but I noticed pages for early years on that Bridportred site did show line-ups at least around the time we won the FA Cup and that there was another Forman in the team quite often.

And yeah the goal thread came to mind when I was checking how to add a poll to an open thread (I was pretty sure that's what you had been planning to do rather than open a new thread).

The Almighty Brian, The Tricky Tree, Blooming Forest, LTLF...

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

Wasn't the "It's Baggio!" headline when we signed Robert Rosario?

Woan was a clever guess but he's 4th, Stan second. Interestingly this season's managers occupy third and eighth on our all time premiership scorers list.

Otherwise I think everything answered so far is correct.

that's my memory but now I'm doubting it with the Silenzi talk

Oh, I was thinking Calvin wanted the name of the first two kids who ran out in full kit and took shots at the keeper at the Trent End. I thought that was particularly tough question.

I was going to guess Bill Foster for one.

We finished bottom in three of those season and nobody scored many in those seasons. Collymore was the only one who was prolific. Stone played in all five seasons, but not all that much in three of them. Pearce played in four by not all that much in the first. I'd have thought Woan played more games so scored more goals than Stone, but maybe not. Clough won't have scored as many as Collymore in his one season. Cooper scored a few in his three seasons but not more than Collymore surely. Gemmill probably scored in all five seasons, so he'd be the guy I'm forgetting. He probably only has to average four or five league goals a season to beat Collymore, so it could be him. Rodgers and van Hooijdonk didn't play enough games. The top five must be out of those?

    Bryan Roy?

Yeah, it probably was. I tend to think of him as a waste of space after Collymore left. But he probably scored around 15 in that season, so another 8-10 over the next two years would do it.

Collymore, Roy, Stone, Woan, Pearce, Gemmill must all be fairly close to each other. The more prolific they were the less games they played.

Gary Bannister would have led briefly early on.

I'd say the Baggio answer has to be Silenzi, or I wondered Campbell, depending on timing (I thought he came for an interview or something early-ish in the summer of 95, before Silenzi signed).

On this video, around 19 minutes or so, his potential sale by Juventus (not to Forest) is discussed:

The Rosario signing was probably after rumours of signing Collymore for about £2m though in Brian Clough's last season?

Actually Kevin Campbell is also my only other idea for top PL scorer although I'm not sure he would've scored more than Collymore's 20 something during 95/96 and 96/97 combined.

Forest Forever is a fanzine which had a very short life.

The Brian has to be the best by a long chalk (sorry LTLF)

I enjoy reading the answers/attempts to quizzes like these because I never can be bothered with the minutiae of life. I just enjoy the football (or whatever) for what it is; stats can be so boring, but answers to quiz questions bring back memories which can be such fun.
