Default FA Youth Cup Quarter Final: Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham Hotspur

Forest easily beat Burnley 2-0 in the last round, but much has happened since then: One Direction’s Niall Horan has allegedly got a girlfriend, Paris Hilton has a new teenage boyfriend, and I think somebody won Celebrity Big Brother*. Oh, and some people left or joined Nottingha, Forest or something.

But put all that behind you, forest now face Tottenham Hotspur, who beat Manchester United 3-1 thanks to goals from 3 or less Spurs players and 1 Man U player (probably).

    Previously forest lined up 442:

    Erlandsson
    Yates Worrall Icovitti Kelly
    Burke Crookes Cash Gamblen
    Walker Mcdonagh

Who scored last time for us: (this time done in picture clues)

    wilfried-zaha.jpgdes walker.jpg

When: Tonight - that's Wednesday for anyone who doesn't know. KO: 7:00
    Where: City Ground
How much: Free for us season ticket holders. £5 for the rest of you plebs**.
What happens if we win: Well we get through to the semi-final (obvs). We will face Championship loan XI (sometimes known as Chelsea U18s). It will be on the 7th March and is a home tie.

Would be nice to have a big crowd there.

*Thanks Daily Mail gossip page (what a horrible cesspit that is)
**Thanks Andrew Mitchell for bringing back pleb

I am going tonight but unfortunately, I will not be able to sit in my usual seat since someone else has taken it.

Just been down to get my ticket. Woman in the office said that we'd sold/given away 2500 tickets for tonight which is a bit more like it!

Yes it is. I believe it is televised also (has been in past few years).

For all those criticising the details on my introduction, I would edit the post but for some reason it's not letting me. Every time I press edit it comes up blank and deletes everything. Yeah I did know it was two legged but I meant the first was at home for us.

No, just the SF if we win tonight. Tonight is a QF and will be settled by extra time and pens.

Obviously the result isn't the most important thing about these games (although it's equally important that players get used to playing in high pressure games with something meaningful at stake) but tonight feels like a really big night for the club. We're not a club that has traditionally had many in for Youth cup games and for us to be getting a crowd in around the 3k represents a really positive attitude shift. Perhaps its because we recognise that our first team won't be achieving much this season so we're desperate for some ardent glory (thank you Wilfred Owen!) but I also think that, with the embargo and everything else which is happening at the club at the moment, people are realising that the Youth team really are our best way out of the monumental rut that we've been in over the past 15 years or so. Even if our lads get a bit of a tonking tonight against an expensively assembled Spurs youth team (which, from what I've seen of our U18s this year, I do not expect to happen) then I hope that it signals a real attitude shift.

Ultimately it broke my heart to see Psycho fail as our manager but if his biggest gift to the club was to help us realise what a fantastic resource for talent we have in our academy then I for one will be thankful. Come on you reds!

I can see us thanking Mr. Pearce is three our four years for the foundations he put in place. Managers come and go, but as long as we continue hiring managers with a philosophy that brings through youngsters we will be in good hands. Freedman looks like one of those thankfully.

    Come on you Forest Men!

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“
