(It's not going to challenge the John's but if Barrett takes an attacking role it's not too bad).
Since they're in I'd better say I seem to have managed to leave out one of the best players again (although I'm sure Francis Benali had Hodge down for the Steve's anyway).

Colin Todd ought to be in instead of Foster really. Warnock tried to claim he'd been Forest manager for an hour or two and his nickname meant he should manage this team, but I said I'd be picking the line-up and he went on Talksport to tell everyone why he was leaving the job to Calderwood.

If I'm around when other games kick-off I'll try and get some votes in now!

Welcome back to the Capital FM Arena, Nottingham. It's Day 3 of the of the Same First Name NFFC Through The Ages 5-A-Side Cup. Team WILLIAM have become a late entry to the tournament since Bill Farmer pitched up from the 1950s with his goalie gloves (this has given the hoardes of Garys watching this week renewed hope that they too might find a goalkeeper and gain a late entry, but they are still running out of time). It's WILLIAMS v PAULS first up this morning in another First Round Qualifier. The teams have yet to be finalised. It's another sell-out today, and the crowds are still streaming in. Play kicks off around 9am.

Right, they are underway on Day 3. This one finishes at midday. Paul Hart and Billy Walker have selected their teams for this First Round Qualifier. And Harty has selected himself. But, there's room for substitution if there has been a glaring omission.

    PAULS
    1. Paul Gerrard (00s goalkeeper)
    2. Paul Hart (80s centre half)
    3. Paul McKenna (00/10s midfielder)
    4. Paul Richardson (70s midfielder)
    5. Paul Wilkinson (80s striker)

(MacGregor, Smith, Evans, Anderson miss out)

    WILLIAMS
    1. Bill Farmer (50s goalkeeper)
    2. Willie Young (80s centre half)
    3. Billy Gray (50s midfielder)
    4. Billy Cobb (50/60s midfielder)
    5. Billy Sharp (10s loanee striker)

    (Taylor, Hoskins, miss out)

A bit sombre maybe, but this was interesting - Billy Gray - http://www.independent.co.uk/news/ob...9-2273781.html)

Also Billy Cobb scored Forest's first ever goal in European in the Fairs Cup against Valencia in 1961.

Could be close this one. OK, who wins? PAULS or BILLS?

I'm gonna say William team takes it.
And that's without knowing much about Cobb or the goalie.

I think Wilkinson would be a bit isolated although a nice pass or two by McKenna or Ricardson might play him in behind Young. Billy Gray might be Man of the Match, and him and Cobb should form a good understanding from years of training together.

It's the PAULS for me - I can't see Gray, Cobb or Sharp getting enough of the ball to do any damage. McKenna and Richardson'll dominate midfield and Wilkinson's just about got enough to twist Young's nipple, if not his blood.

I think you'd be better including Collindridge for more of a goal threat and pushing Barrett back into a more defensive role. So....

    Doyle
    Barrett
    Cooper
    Walsh
    Collindridge

The Pauls have a strong spine to their lineup. The Bills are struggling to break them down. Slow and steady wins the day! It's the Pauls all the way for me. I can actually see them surprising a few of the bigger 'names'.

Yes, probably - Collindridge's name should probably make him a shoe-in anyway!

Colin Collindridge epitomizes what this competition is all about.

Gerrard & Hart v Farmer & Young; Comparing the levels they played at, the stage of career, the number of appearances it's difficult to choose who is better defensively here. Paul Wilkinson's goal at Highbury alone makes the PAULS more of a goal threat. Cobb played the bulk of games at a higher level than Richardson, but Richardson contributed far more.

In Billy Gray though, the WILLIAMS have the best player on the pitch. He lights up this qualifier.

    Goal BILLYS.

    PAULS 2 BILLYS 2

Think Hart will deal with Sharp okay, and McKenna will bite in midfield. It's the Paul's by a nose for me.

Yep, absolute belter. The straight knock system is a cruel format, though. Neither of these teams deserve to be going home so early in the tourney.
