I was watching a blackbird earlier. Clinging on to the side of the suet block holder and really struggling to hold on and pick at the block compared to the sparrows and blue tits, no doubt being extra hampered by today's high winds.
I'm fairly sure I've never seen a blackbird on one of these kind of feeders before. I saw him come and go 3 times in the space of a few minutes but of course didn't return when I'd been and got my camera.

I received that bird book Lard recommended and while I'll admit it is excellent I'm even more confused now (shut it Wes). So many varieties of what before I thought was one species of bird.
Had a couple of Gulls fly over this morning, by the time I'd flicked through half a dozen pages they'd fucked off.

You need to take a picture of them and then study the photo , No way can you Identify a gull without having a record.
You can rule out alot of the species with looking at the population map .

Love seeing these when they are small! When they grow up, not so much!

My mam was saying the Swans that make a nest near the castle marina every year have been seen without their young. Her friend had a walk over and no sign of them in the nest either.

One of those bridge cameras with the massive zoom would do you a treat.

I've got the slightly earlier version of this (FZ80), I would definitely recommend it for the money.

They do the P1000 now, Though I can't guarantee it will keep a woman chained to the sink.
