@ the all those posts ^

A couple of shots of earlier in the afternoon. These gadwalls were really, really spooky. I walked towards a reed fringed pond and had no idea they were there; they saw me before I saw them and bolted, but I managed to grab a couple of hurried shots as they flew away.

And later on when they were flying around above the reedbeds instead of the no-show starlings.

    Awesome pictures Barbus!
The second Nuthatch shot is a completely different view of the bird to what we always see.

Cheers chaps. I was blessed with some lovely late light for the nuthatch but it's still a difficult bird to shoot because it just doesn't stay still.
It was doing circuits involving the feeding table, two tree trunks and some branches above and behind the feeder and back again. Never staying in one spot more than a second or two.
Lovely to watch, frustrating to photograph!
Saw some bullfinches and magpies too but they were too distant and the pictures were very poor.

Firecrest was showing at the reserve on Friday and is still there, I missed it by 5 mins sadly but did see a Siskin , Redpoll , skylark and my first ringed plover which you cannot make out when they are on the mud as they are camouflaged so well it's amazing.

Just had my yearly delivery of goat shit from the local shepherd. He was really impressed with the amount of birds that we have around the house and on the feeders.
He asked me if maybe when he has a bit more time on his hands during the summer if I'd let him come round and shoot them.
Er, no Pedro as much as I like you my old mucker, that really isn't the object of the exercise.
