    Default Forest to report Derby...?

Not substantiated at this point, but I've heard some whispers from some reliable sources that Forest officials are strongly considering reporting Derby to the F.A. over an alleged unauthorised approach for Kris Commons.

Apparently there is evidence in existance that Commons met with Paul Jewell as far back as seven months ago, when he was still under contract to Forest. It is alleged that they were discussing contracts as far back as that, which contravenes F.A. regulations.

Would certainly explain why Commons wouldn't even listen to offers from Forest...

That would be fantastic. Arent the FA trying to clamp down on this big time?

According to soccer base he joined on 1/07/04 so presumably with a one year extension that would take him to 30/06/08.

The fact that he refused to negotiate in May would lead to a reasonable assumption thathe had been tapped up.

If true I would have presumed an issue would not have been made of this until the Earnshaw deal was done.

That's not entirely true. He did the right thing in keeping his t-shirt on.

Didn't someone say they spoke to him quite a while ago, and he knew he was going to Derby.

I seem to remember it being posted on here and shot down as most unsubstantiated rumours often are.

Come on fellas have a bit of compassion for them.

I am away from our London office but I have heard now that the two East Midlanders I stuck next to each other are having a great time.

One sign on a wall says "Commons is a Ram".
This has been replaced yesterday with "ELEVEN POINTS"

I aim to please and create a social atmosphere....

incredible! so it could well be true, what is the punishment for such an offence if found guilty? docked points?

It's traditionally been a monetary fine, but as with most offences the FA have unlimited powers of punishment. If they're looking to make an example of someone, they could well come down hard on our lovely rivals.

They haven't really done too much about this sort of thing in the past.
More paid scant attention and a rap on the knuckles.

A 15 point deduction would be good

I actually hope not. I don't think I could abide by another season of 'real' league tables, and last minute appeals.

How many people would "forgive" commons if he had evidence of the meeting and showed this to the FA. The FA then tell Derby they are docked 15 points and Commons to be released, he then re-signs for us.

THE most unlikely story to happen, but would be funny!

I'm with you apart from the forgiving Commons, and then re-signing him.

Paul Jewell became Derby manager in the last week of November. Kris Commons, under FIFA regulations, would have been free to talk to other clubs from 1 January, being in the last year of his contract.

Now, either Paul Jewell's first move as Derby manager was to try and sign Kris Commons on a free in June (instead of trying to sign players in the January transfer window), or there are some very, very sour grapes in Nottingham...

Other clubs not in ENGLAND from January, cannot speak to English clubs till Jun 01.

That's how I always thought it worked.

So you aren't annoyed/angry/jealous/upset that we have signed Kris but you want to report us to the FA.

    Sorry but I'm slightly confused?

Oh and you were talking to Earnmore before June 1st so aren't you in exactly the same position?

And why aren't you all at the Test?

We didn't talk to Earnshaw, we communicated through telepathy.

I am those; I don't deny it - I'm very disappointed he joined Derby; I can cope with him leaving assuming (a dangerous assumption) that he's replaced.

But it angers me that someone who has paid lip service to supposedly being a fan of the club has left for you lot.

I don't see any merit in us reporting Derby for anything even if there was evidence of tapping up... let's just move on.

I fear i may have to side with the Derby fans on this one, instead of trying to sue the sheep, why dont we just try and concentrate on our own team/players and bringing players in of a caliber higher than that of Judas himself......it does sound like sour grapes
