Final score, VfB Stuttgart 2, VfB Stuttgart 3.

    Confused, you will be.

St Pauli stole a win earlier with a belter of a free kick that it seems the keeper didn't even see.

Darn tooting! Strategic development manager of the sports area. Whatever that means.

These Elliot chaps who own us now know how to get on the fans good side. First Leonardo, now this. Already they seem to be making a better fist of it then the Chinese lads.

So, preseason friendly, VfB Stuttgart 1, Atlético Madrid 1.

Decent game, VfB could have won but hit the bar with a second-half penalty. Diego Simeone spent the Match outside of the technical area - frankly he may as well have been playing as a winger in the second half - but who cares it’s a friendly.

59.112 saw it happen, in absolutely glorious weather.

Double thumbs up from Marko Pjaca in Florence

Front 3 of Pjaca, Chiesa & Simeone with Mirallas as back up. Nice.

World Cup Winner Benjamin Pavard has returned to full training at VfB Stuttgart a week early - he wasn’t due to report back until next Monday - so keen is he to get back into preparation for the new season.

„I am happy to be back at the VfB and my boys. Of course, I am also looking forward to coach Tayfun Korkut, the entire coaching team and our great staff. In addition, I still have to thank my teammates for their wonderful song" (the team made up a song in his honour after he won the World Cup with France).

Cracking attitude from a player who is destined for the very top, in my humble opinion. Hope VfB can hang on to him!

La Liga have confirmed a deal to hold regular season games in the USA.

    Just disgusting.

It would be delightful if the game they sent over to the states was Eibar vs Girona, though.

It won’t be El Classico apparently.

I wonder if the EPL will be looking on enviously and considering resurrecting the 39th game idea.

Inevitable that this will happen to the PL too.

These decisions boil down to whether Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man C and Spurs want something to happen. They definitely will. Strong opposition from supporters will only be indulged for so long.

I'm fortunate enough to have been to see the NFL at Wembley and Twickenham on multiple occasions, so I can't grumble. Fair play to La Liga I say

I went to a couple of NFL games, seated high up and I never actually saw the ball when it was in play.

Zenit 4-0 down to Dinamo Minsk in the Europa League playoff from the first leg.

They bring it back to 4-4 on agg, goes to extra time and they win 8-1 (8-5 on agg).
