Cracking interview with Bayernís Joshua Kimmich, well worth a read for his thoughts on Pep Guardiola alone:

Milan take the pre game victory.

Also, VAR is a modern marvel and I won't hear a word against it.

Icardi just missed a open goal from 3 yards out.

Was beautiful to see him do it in the flesh... Twice!

It was truly a game neither team deserved to win.

Stuttgart lost 3-0 away to Dortmund today, this meant they lost their first game under the management of Tayfun Korkut (five wins, three draws, one defeat) since he was appointed in January.

    Thatís a new-Manager bounce!

Frankly astonishing scenes tonight, in the unpopular Monday night game between Mainz 05 and SC Freiburg.

First half stoppage time, Mainz on the attack, a cross goes in, and Mainz claim a handball in the box, but the Referee isnít interested!

The ball goes out of play and the Ref blows for half time.

Players leave the pitch, but the Referee is contacted by the Video Assistant Ref, who tells him to review the footage. The half is over and the players have left, but the Referee, after three minutes review, gives the Penalty!

So, the Ref summons the players back on, the ball is spotted up and Mainz score from the spot!

Iíve never seen anything like it.

Itís now half time, but has that ever happened before, a goal scored during half time?

...and as part of the popular ďGegens Montag FuŖballĒ (against Monday football) campaign, as the second half kicks off, hundreds of Mainz fans bombard the goal with toilet rolls.

    Oh dear.

And then, after five minutes delay whilst the stewards clean up the toilet rolls, the game is about to kick off again...

...and down comes another barrage of toilet rolls.

    Perfectly synchronised anarchy.

    Only in Germany!

Saw something similar in Barbados, Kensington Oval, once. During World Series Cricket, the Kerry Packer thing.

Roy Fredricks was given out LBW to Denis Lillee. Roy was batting sublimely and the crowd were upset so they rioted, chucking stuff on the field of play. One little chap goes around and clears the whole lot up, the players come out again, minus Fredericks, so the crowd chuck the whole lot back on again. As it was only WSC they just all gave up and went home!

Just the next fuck up in our rush to be perfect. VAR is absolutely shit. It's certainly far more contentious than a referee having a stinker, but in this age of wall to wall professional criticism, thanks Sky, what should we really expect.

Sooner they fuck it off, the better.

Oh, well done to the fans for showing their displeasure to their overlords. Sky and their ilk couldn't give a shit about the fans, all that matters is ratings and revenues.

    The game is fucked.

A Thai businessman called Pairoj Piempongsant who does a lot of business with super agent Pini Zahovi and a lot of sponsor deals in British football (the Carabao cup for example), has bought Mouscron, a small struggling club in Belgium, and now also wants to buy Panathinaikos in Greece.

Given his British connections, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes for a Championship club in the near future. It would be funny to have a reflection of the Olympiacos - Panathinaikos rivalry in the Championship.

Zahovi was one of the alleged consortium members involved in the first time Marinakis was trying to take us over along with a couple of other agents.

Is that certain? It sounds very strange, given that Marinakis has not done any business with Zahavi (the previous owner did).

Think Antonis (journalist on Twitter) debunked that idea fairly quickly iirc

Not certain no, it was all rumors at that time but it all stacked up looking back.

One of the agents alongside Zahavi was a Serbian agent called Ramadani (he has a few Oly players including Marin), he had close ties with Pedro Pereira who came in at the same time the takeover was going through.

And Pereira now works for his agency, who have been involved in a few deals at Mouscron too.

Fair enough then, can't remember him saying anything about it though.

I think Antonis mentioned that no agents were involved then batted away a load of names so could be wrong.

Ramadani is a different story. He is very much linked with Olympiakos and it was rumoured in the Greek press as well that he would have some role at Forest, back in 2016 (but he hasn't, at least so far). Zahavi is a top shark. It's not very clever to associate too much with big sharks, because they tend to get the lion's share out of every deal. Marinakis prefers mid-range players in the agents' mob.
