Hopefully, UEFA will finally realise that FFP by itself can only save football from bubbles (of the Anzhi type, a club once spending dozens of millions in transfers and disappearing a few years later) and cannot help competition. Only some sort of (proportionate) spending and salary cap of the NBA type can do the job.

    She's certainly good enough.

I saw her Ref a Stuttgart game in the 2.Bundesliga last season, certainly a competent performance.

Everton are currently a shining example why they call the prem the best league in the world.

...and on a neutral ground too. A friend of mine went. It's the only chance he'll get of seeing his beloved Toffees and he has a 2hr round trip to ponder the performance because FIFA have decided the Atalanta ground is a shithole (which it is)

You know when they say our defending is bad? It looks almost premier league on this showing...

P.S. Atalanta made 4 changes from the league game at the weekend.

I'm not sure why people are surprised, Atalanta are no mugs. Finished 4th in Serie A above other teams who would probably also beat an Everton team without Lukaku.

They're not awful but they're not any good either. Most of last years talent has been sold off, they were without their best striker and had to play the game in the arse end of nowhere.

Tbf Everton have been defending that badly in the EPL.

Panos Retsos, the young defender we sold to Leverkusen for 22m made his debut today and his new team achieved its first victory (4-0) and kept its first clean sheet this year. I read raving reviews about his performance.

So be kind to the youngsters of your team, you never know what the future will bring for them. Up until the last day before Retsos' transfer happened, many Olympiacos' fans were declaring their absolute certainty that there was no way in hell that a team would pay so much money for an inexperienced CB from Greece.

Just caught the end of Real Madrid v Real Betis and Betis have just scored in the 94th minute with a stunning team goal after holding onto the ball for about 2 minutes. It was absolute brilliance. I wonder how much their team is worth in comparison to Madrid's? How very dare they.
