    ...and that’s it!

0-1, Bayern win. It has to be the end of the Bundesliga challenge from Dortmund; Bayern aren’t going to drop seven points from here.

A chess-match of a game, decided by one moment of absolute superb technique from Joshua KImmich.

Dortmund might consider themselves unlucky not to be awarded an Elfmeter following a potential handball by Jerome Boateng, but with six matches to play and 18 points available, you can’t see Bayern messing it up from here.

I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

    Class? Bayern?

Understandably, you’re maybe new to German football. Bayern are the most classless side in the country.

Another reason why everyone outside Bavaria hates them.

    Italy, Germany, Scotland, France...

How long will it be before a different team wins a championship in any of their leagues?

I'd bet on Rangers winning in Scotland in one of the next couple of seasons.

Neil Lennon seems like a very average manager extending a career because he landed a job where he couldn't lose after Rangers were demoted three divisions... and because he once won a game that was more or less a dead rubber for Barcelona. It's inevitable Scotland will return to a two horse race. Rangers were all over Celtic in the League Cup Final and somehow contrived to lose. A good manager at Rangers can win that title again in the near future.

Such a pity for Rangers then, that they’re stuck with „Slippy“ Gerrard!

Only two more weeks of mandatory feigned interest in fanless Bundesliga. Things are looking up.

Default La Liga/Serie A/Bundesliga/Ligue Un & other World Football Thread

Half time, 0-2 down to Hamburger SV, following a sloppily conceded goal and a controversially awarded penalty, the VfB pulls it back in the second 45, with goals from Wataru Endu, Nicolas Gonzalez (from the spot) and improbably, Gonzalo Castro in the 92nd minute from a Gonzalez cross to win the crunch-clash, 3-2, and make a real claim for the second automatic promotion spot from the 2. Bundesliga.

I’d have been at the originally scheduled match, and it looks like we all missed a classic.

Fantastic three points, fantastic victory, but with six games to play, it’s all up for grabs yet.

    Anyway, time to celebrate:

„Hey! Hey! Achtzehn hundert drei und neunzig!

    (Repeat until falling over drunk).

Tired off watching Germans just running at each other like 10 Yr olds on a play ground?

Well, the lunatic Gravina has you covered. The thinking fans league is back from June the 20th, with Cup games being played a week before.

If you're at a loose end. Might I recommend taking in an Atalanta game. One of the highest scoring clubs in Europe atm on a wage bill similar to Reading.

Gasperini's achievements all the more impressive considering the talent they lost (sold).

They do it every year. It's very impressive.

We had a couple off them two years ago and they've never really excelled at Milan in the way they did there.

Just been on BT Sport. Only saw the end, but first one I've seen so far that looked like it had some intensity and wasn't being played at half pace.

Not much resistance put up by Bib Fortuna.

Was hoping behind closed doors after time off might level the playing field a bit and we'd get some strange results for a bit of entertainment. But it hasn't.

Waddle made the point on the radio the other day, being able to hear everything the players will provide a challenge for the TV when they restart here. Going to have to be shown on slight delay so they can edit out all the cussing.

There is some industrial language in the Bundesliga games though; it’s just that if you don’t speak German, it’s not apparent.

In Thursday nights’ game against Hamburger SV, when a penalty was awarded to Hamburg just before half-time, Stuttgart defender Holger Badstuber was (quite clearly) picked up by the perimeter microphone asking the Assistant Referee (who’d flagged for handball) „Hey! You! What the fuck was that? That’s fucking shit!“

Holger, it’s fair to say, rather wears his heart on his sleeve.

Yeah, it's what Waddle said. We don't understand what they're saying except the odd word, so we don't notice it here.

I can see what 'PL footballers came out with today' being big on social media if they don't censor it. They might have with all the kids watching.

Probably best not to restart if a bit of swearing is an issue

Most PL footballers don't speak english either so it won't be much of a problem.

Floating football-brain-in-a-Box Jonathan Wilson has a spot-on analysis of the tactical elements of many Bundesliga sides here:

As usual with his articles, he’s nailed it.

Jadon Sancho might be in a bit of hot water, after scoring against Paderborn, he whipped off his shirt to reveal a „Justice for George Floyd“ message on his t-shirt, attracting a yellow card.

    Good on him, I say.

    More on Sancho:

    Three shots, three goals.

    Paderborn 1, Dortmund 6

Too little too late. Blew their chance, and the Bundesliga's chance of keeping the world's attention, last week.

Now that the Bundesliga has been running for a couple of weeks, has there been any additional confirmed Covid19 cases since it started?

    Hang on, that's Icardi!

Good riddance to the prick. His classless baiting of Maxi Lopez was unconscionable.

... Also he always scored against us in the derby,so fuck off and don't come back Mauro.
