    Definitely mate.

Things were sliding under previous ownership. New owners want to stamp their mark and a signing like this probably convinces someone like Chiesa to stay. Big name and despite his age can do well like you say.

Carlos Vela for LAFC. Should be a constant in the Mexico side.

    Copa Libertadores Quarterfinals, 2nd leg

Palmeiras 1-2 Gremio (2-2 aggregate. Gremio through on away goals). Palmeiras took an early lead in 14' but Gremio scored in the 18' and 22'. Libertadores is such a bonkers competition.

    Copa Sudamericana Quarterfinals, 2nd leg

La Equidad 1-3 Atletico Mineiro (2-5 aggregate)

Last of the quarterfinal 2nd legs:
    Copa Libertadores
Cerro Porteno 1-1 River Plate (1-3 aggregate)

    Copa Sudamericana
Fluminense 1-1 Corinthians (1-1 aggregate, Corinthians through on away goal)

    Semifinals are set.
Copa Sudamericana: 18-19 Sep. and 25-26 Sep.
    Colon - Atletico Mineiro
    Corinthians - Independiente del Valle

Copa Libertadores: 1-2 Oct and 22-23 Oct
River Plate - Boca Juniors (Let the lunacy begin. After last year we learned that anything can happen in El Superclassico.)
    Gremio - Flamengo

4 giants of South America. Should be exciting.

Currently at a very weird San siro. It appears the Curva sud (Milan) and the curva nord (Brescia) are 'twinned' and as such its a slightly peculiar situation of home and away fans singing the same songs, sud are singing forza Brescia, they're replying in kind. It's bloody weird.

As I type this at half time, the Brescia lot are still singing.

... But I'm pleased to report, they've ditched Heineken in favour of peroni (nastro azzurri) in the bars.

I’ve wondered for a while now, what’s the reason for living in Milan? It is work related? Sorry for been nosey.

It must be an experience to be able to watch football at the San Siro as regular as you want, of course not as enjoyable as being at the Juventus game tonight

Ha! The Mrs applied for a job here whilst I was out at 5's and she got it so here we are.

Watching footy here would be better if Milan were any good. (Borini has just fluffed an open goal) still miss the city ground though and love my one game a year. There's no place like home and all that.

Is the racial thing wide spread in Italy or just limited to one or two clubs?

Do the League actually understand the racial problem, if it exists?

It's mostly one or two.... Or three or four clubs.

The Butei (ultras) of Hellas Verona have until very recently said they don't want any blacks in their shirt. Lazio are famous for it and their twins inter have form as well.

The Fa here need to stop sitting on their hands and be seen to do something. Sadly however, Italians love lawyers and the laws around this sort of crowd behaviour are complicated and ambiguous.

Thanks, the reports here are so bland and lack content.

So difficult to control when a big crowd is involved, the perpetrators just hide amongst the masses; unless individuals are brave enough to 'out' the culprits, it's hard to know how to sort it.

Well there's plenty they could do. Close stands, proper fines etc... But they choose not to and nothing will change until they do.

Italy has a bit of problem with race more generally. The only black faces on TV are sports folk and the black people in suited jobs are security.

Further to that, here is the response from Inter's Curva Nord....
