Was only listening to a record of him yesterday. One of the finest voices of the last 60 years. I personally loved the Jacques Brel stuff he did. So dark yet so powerful

Sad to lose this wonderful voice.
And this is my personal favourite from his "Sings Jaques Brel" album, which is one of the best in my collection.

Sad loss. Thanks for the music.

I used to work in factory in Lace Market when there were such things and was talking to the manager about music and he mentioned he liked Scott Walker. When we did overtime on Saturdays we'd put our own music on, so the next Saturday I took in my Scott Walker sings Jaques Brel tape. Turned out the manager wasn't familiar with this side of Mr Walker's ouevre. After about 3 songs he glowered at me and said "what is this FUCKING SHIT?" Not really to his taste apparently.

RIP Scott Engel, aka Scott Walker.

I'm not much good at posting links on here. Scott released a few rock n roll singles in the USA back in the late 1950s. "Good for nothin'", "Kathleen" , and "The living' end" are favourites of mine.
