Must say something about his attitude that he is trusted to play with the u23s and be captain.

You could have stopped, right there

    Preston injured ?

That front 4 (Johnson, Mighten, Swan & En-Neyah) is flames.

    Fornah also growing in stature.

First time I've really seen Swann. Full of energy and very quick.Jake Taylor did well in midfield again.Fornah didn't get into the game as much as last time i saw him but hit 3 fantastic shots from outside the box.

Preston’s groin a bit tight after the Bristol City game so rested. Hopefully should be back for the Millwall game and aims to train fully on Thursday.

It only takes a second to score a goal.

Good stuff. Not sure if you would be willing to comment but personally I'm hoping with Danny's natural progression that a loan from January onwards would be ideal for him.

Danny's isn't the tallest but he is solid muscle what there is of him so obviously height may be questioned in the senior game so would really think from Jan that a loan would be the perfect challenge for him.

Let us not forget Danny has been playing u23s since he was 16 (now 19) ? Am I right ?

    Yes mate.

With the club u14s. Shay Morrison. A forward like Clinton.

Also heard that Kevin Nolan has been doing some coaching work (not sure if full time) and his son is also at the academy.

Pity Swan had a couple of injuries that effected him for a good 12-18 months of his scholarship. Who knows how far a long he would be now. His rate of scoring when fit for the 18s was like a goal a game and he isn't just about goals.

    Goals from yesterday.

Not been mentioned on here but as well as Greek GK Marios Siampanis ; Albanian youth international defender, Rezart Rama, has joined from Olympiakos and he came off the bench yesterday for the 23s.

Interesting. He was released from us. He plays as CB and RB.

Yes he’s definitely ready for a loan and I think he would have gone last January if he hadn’t picked up this groin problem. Looking to prove his fitness again but he certainly didn’t look out of place against Mansfield. Danny is ready for his next challenge if injury doesn’t hold him back. Danny was 15 at North Ferriby debut for 23s vs Hull City. Danny can head a ball despite his height, a bit like Danny Rose at Mansfield. He’s definitely up for a loan and a challenge no doubt about that.

Have there been any other foreign recruits in your academy? We seem to buy a lot of youngsters from the Balkans this summer (we just bought a Bosnian 18 year old international).

And Rezi Rama was raised in Greece, so he's your third Albanian, you've just had no Albanian from Albania.

It seems to have slowed down. We used to recruit more from Ireland (mainly Republic) when the academy first opened. Most recent Irish recruits (McClean (St Johnstone 1st team), En-Neyah, Donnelly) 2 were from Northern Ireland.

We have had periods for German (Bastians/Bopp/Forman), many Frenchman (Fernandez/Diagne/Gnahore/Gomis and others), Cypriots (Laifis, Artymatas, Karo), Scandanavia (Nielsen/Erlandsson/Ahmedhodzic) and then others from Eastern Europe like Evtimov/Petravicius/Soloha.

But when Brazil took charge he made a point about making sure we don't lose anyone from Nottingham and Notts and making sure we are winning in recruitment in East Midlands. I think instead of going overseas they have been looking to recruit from London/Manchester and the likes instead to fill intakes from the local lads.

I think Forest academy has always been realistic. They know it is hard to purchase the best young players from Europe so instead of having to pay fees they worrying about their own coaching from the lower age groups upwards to produce your own or polish guys like Brereton/Cash/Edser and many others picked up for free.

I think Forest are big on player development. If they were in Cat 1 there might be a bigger need to make teams and squads stronger really because never can all the players make into the first team at that club. Never can all the players be geniuses in the same age group. It is about building a strong belief and encourage playing the right way. The better players will still stand out whether playing with 6 other youth internationals or 3 in my opinion.
