Rarely does it disappoint. Been to a fair number of these, but the last time was December 1988.

I meant, that was the last time I went to one, not the last time they played each other.

Southern League, two under the Conference. I hate seeing clubs get relegated due to owners cocking it up. It's always the supporters that get punished through no fault of their own.

I think I've mentioned before but it was horrible seeing it happen to Salisbury, they were on the up then the chairman just cocked them up. Salisbury would've been a fantastic away day at some point!

Went there in 2004, non football related. Nice place and friendly locals. Found a good chip shop too.

Is it rough in the Travellers now ? Bloody hell. I lived in Hightown Flats (R.I.P.) from '84 to '93 and the Travellers was where you went for a quiet pint. I normally drank in the Green Dragon, watched most of World Cup '86 in there.

Savage didn't mention going to watch Wrexham at Wigan in the back of a battered old transit I'd hired, total of 25 in the van. Even though not strictly legal, the police would turn a blind eye as they just wanted you out of their town. The things you could get away with back then LOL

Knocked out the FA Cup this year by Ellistown & Ibstock of the East Midlands Counties League.

It's not rough actually my mate made it sound rough, it's a good pub. Hahaha those flats needed tearing down they were so awful and grey in fact they have a new high town complex with a snazzy new community centre it's much better now. Great start for Wrexham Sav and Owen are on the coverage as well.

Seen the video of the demolition on youtube. It actually shows my living room getting torn apart.

My old team from England (Mickleover Royals) just beat Basford United in the FA Vase 1-0.

I don't know what side Basford put out, but they do have such players as Lee Hendrie, Saul Deeney, Aaron Webster and Marc Goodfellow, amongst other former pro's in their squad.

Fantastic achievement for a team who have only been playing 7 years and bar two (Dan Martin and Matt Richards), are a team full of players picked from Saturday afternoon football.

I do like the FA vase. Some real underdog stories in there.

Rainworth Miners Welfare (just outside Mansfield, I work in the village), were beaten finalists in that in the early '80s ('82 I think).

Mansfield fans aren't a happy bunch, even the Pro-Cox brigade have their doubts about him now.
Their league position isn't too bad but some are saying his brand of Football is the worst they have seen at t'Mill for over 40 years.

I went to see them with a Stags friend at Notts in the Paint Trophy the other week, they were frankly shocking.
