I saw some great shows at Nottingham Albert Hall in the '60s/early-'70s....The Rolling Stones, Ten Years After and Mott The Hoople being three particularly memorable ones.

Much more recently, Donovan (Leitch that is to younger forum members, not the Australian soap actor) demonstrated his exceptional guitar-playing during an intimate gig there a couple of years ago. John Mayall's 80th birthday tour stops off there next month.

    Did they lose?

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

Never quite got it myself but people went mad for him at the time. We had a lad in our town can’t have been more than 14 not only dyed his hair black but shaved his forehead a bit to get it the same shape

That’s a wig now for sure, he had a receding hairline in 1981

    Oh FFS.

Billy Bootleggers in Nott'm will be having live rockabilly bands playing in the near future. Anyone ever been to a gig there, what's the place like?

It's only opened up this week I think, so I cant tell you about the Nottingham establishment, however I've been to there sister venue in Newcastle.

If you are hoping for a modern day interpretation of the old Klub Foot in Hammersmith you'll be sadly mistaken, it's just another "boozer" to fleece money out of unsuspecting punters.

They call themselves Dive Bars. Unfortunately they don't have dive bar prices.

    I wasn't impressed.
