    Default Harry Macguire

We have put in a bid for Harry Macguire U21 international at Sheffield United.
Hull City too apparently. Wonder if SPs U21 experience and knowing Clough will help swing it.
Very strong rumour on Twitter. Not sure about elsewhere. He's a big unit at 20 yrs old and 6'4. We need someone like him as Wilson is looking a bad buy.

Looks like we're trying to buy every CB under 21 in the country. I like it.

As long as he can stay fit it's fine

If we sign enough, they'll only have to play 1 match in 8. Less chance of picking up an injury.

This came up on the Sky Sports Transfer touch screen round up.

Harry McGuire with Forest's and Hull's badge next to him saying 'BID MADE'. However they then went on to talk about Hull and Wolves making a bid for him and how he'd like to play in the Prem. At no point were Forest mentioned, it looked as though they'd just put the wrong club badge up.

He's hinted that he would like to leave United and Wolves have been tracking him for a while.

Not been told Forest have made a bid for him though.

Would take him everyday of the week..

I also think we ought to be looking at brayford as he is also a good player and not getting first team games

FWIW SSN during their transfer talk section have put that Hull and ourselves have placed bids for him.

He was impressive in their cup games last season and would be a good signing.
    Possible replacement for Lascelles?
    Or three at the back?

I said we should go for him last season, would be a brilliant signing. Very good defender.

166 games for a 21 year old is a huge amount of games.

This would be another good signing, ready to play now but also with the potential to improve.

Looks like he's closer to joining Hull than anybody though.

Think the Psycho factor has a chance of swaying it. Hope so. Fed up of dicking around with crocks.

Could Nigel, so long as the bids are the same, accept one but not the other?

I think he'd go to the prem given the opportunity

He could commute to either from Sheffield, but while you'd expect him to get 40 games with us this season, I can't see him getting that at Prem level.

It is a good point. I saw today that 8 of the players in Germany's U21 world cup side from 2009 were at the world cup. We only had James Milner.

I think the reason for that is that these young talented U21's go to Premier league clubs too early and don't get the chance. Scott Sinclair, Micha Richards, Craig Dawson, Jack Rodwell, Adam Johnson, Nedum Onuoha, Kyle Walker and Kyle Naugton are a few I can think of who's careers have really suffered at big clubs. That is why our world cup team was so weak. They can afford to buy up and stockpile young players and it is harming the game.

Players like these and Maguire would be much better off playing regularly at Championship level rather than not playing at a Premier league club.

100% this. Hull are a lower Prem team but even so Bruce has put together a decent squad considering where they were when in the championship.
The lad would get more games and be coached by the former U21 coaching staff so would develop. Chances are he might get into the prem with us. Who knows.

Would be a cracking addition to the squad, but i cannot see us getting him, his agent will no doubt be telling him to go to Hull.
