I have always treated FFP as an intention by bigger clubs to keep the status quo. The principal is good however.

Summed up wonderfully on Twatter this morning:

Charlton have been relegated because they didn't break the rules.

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

That's not really true though. Breaking the rules doesn't guarantee a team more points. Charlton are really being relegated because of the chaos caused by their ownership battle and probably also the refusal of their top scorer to sign a contract extension. They're not being saved from relegation because the EFL tribunal decided to apply Wednesday's punishment to next season, not this one, for some strange reason. It wouldn't surprise me if they decided to apply Derby's punishment THIS season, just to cause even more mayhem

Wigan lost their appeal. Confirmed relegated.

    How quick was that?

I'm sure it was investigated just as comprehensively as the fit and proper test for their owners was.

Yep it is outrageous isn’t it the whole points deduction, sanctions and ffp stinks as all it seems to do is maintain the big clubs which, of course, it was designed by to do exactly that

    Boo.

Bang out of order, as they say in that there London.

I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism

Who we rooting for tonight then?

I hope Fulham do it I see them as a much bigger threat next season if they stay down here imo, I'd expect Brentford would need abit of time recover and for them to be having a traditional playoff hangover having completely bottled the autos chance.

I think Norwich will have nice continuity and Watford I'm still undecided as they have good individual quality.

Bournemouth getting 40m for Ake really gives them a strong hand to get who they want in our division.

They have a solid base even if they lose Brooks, Wilson, King

    GK: Ramsdale
    RB: Smith, Stacey
    CB: Cook, Mepham, Kelly
    LB: Rico
    CM: Gosling, Lerma, Billing, Cook
    ATT: Brooks, Stanislas, Groeneveld
    FWD: Wilson, King, Solanke

Yeah, Ballmouth banking 40m plus parachute money really puts them at an advantage; it will depend on who they get in as Manager I guess, but you have to say theyll be favourites for automatic promotion (like Fulham, itd be a massive failure if not).

Plus 42mm parachute payments. Plus whatever income they generate from match day and commercial.

It’s a great position for a new manager. Although the pressure to get promoted will be there from day one.

Can’t edit, but 42mm doesn’t sound a lot on reflection.

If they're looking for someone to spaff parachute payments up the wall, then Pl*tt's your man, surely.

I think they'll also lose Cook, Lerma, Billing and Mepham, which would give you a squad of:

    GK: Ramsdale
    RB: Smith, Stacey
    CB: Kelly
    LB: Rico
    CM: Gosling
    ATT: Stanislas, Groeneveld
    FWD: Solanke

    Suddenly looks bang average.

Lot of money to spend of course to put together a side capable of going straight back up but a lot of turnover may mean that it takes them a while to get going.

Personally I think Norwich will be far stronger.

I'm gonna wait for Forest to drift to 25/1 then back them, they never let you down at that amount.

I'm not saying they will be right up there but I think Birmingham's odds are very long considering they've got Kranks

About right. Stoke look a bit long and Id be surprised if Brentford didnt have a hangover but apart from that Id say thats probably more or less how Id predict things as of now.

Parachute club ins and outs will change that though and Id expect the 3 that came down to be favourites once the window closes.

Looks like someone in the far east will be receiving a nice, fat pay-out for that big bet then.

Millwal 28/1 is a bit generous. Reckon they'll have a good crack at it this year - should have got play-offs for me.

    Presuming that's to win it?

Forest are very short, I wouldn't put a brass farthing on us below 50's.
