How do you feel about camping? If you are staying in UK that's a good shout. North Norfolk coast is very nice, Sherringham/Cromer. Forest of Dean is very nice, I have been to Ross on Wye for the first bank holiday for the last couple of years with my youngest and love it.

We would but we still think the two little ones are to young to fly.... it's bad enough sitting on a sofa with them for 2 hours yet about a seat close to torture in a tin can.

Can't go wrong with Cornwall if you're staying in the UK. Kids similar age as yours.

We stay near Newquay at Hendra Holiday Park as there's lots do for the kids in terms of entertainment at the holiday park and surfing and water sports for the older ones at Newquay itself. We then travel to all the 'prettier' coastal resorts and beaches like Padstowe,
St Ives etc. Porthcurno beach and a few others are stunning.

Thanks, we were looking in Cornwall but it's such a vast place and having not been since I were a kid myself me and the wife were a bit blind.

Have a look on Sykes cottages, you can view by area and see what's available for the week you want. Theres some nice places on there in some good locations.

We have considered camping and that is an option but we would literally have to buy everything

The 3 year old sits at the window your wife in the middle 12 year old next to her
You and the 4 year old on the other row or behind or in front.
Kids want entertaining and a pool , Your 12 year old will want Wifi .
The main reason I don't bother with the UK is the weather, it could piss it down and then its shit all week.

ĄI believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialismď

When my two were little, took the car over to Jersey for the summer holidays.

You may also be able to pick up short flights otherwise the ferry (catamaran) journey is exciting for the young ones. If you fly, you can hire a small car for nipping around. The island isnít that big but I would recommend your own transport.

Thereís so much to do if the weather is good or bad. Beautiful beaches, safe water, English speaking, great kiddy-friendly pubs serving food of all kinds, many places of interest including the Gerrard Durrell conservation zoo. Thereís cinema and indoor play areas and a beautiful town centre so you have everything you need within a short distance. Itís quite flat so you can hire bikes. Itís perfect.

I think 'odd' is a good thing. Oddness shows originality, uniqueness and a desire to be different from the masses. Oddness is, maybe, only deemed 'odd' by the majority who are considered less odd but only by their own blinkered observations and understanding. Oddness should never be criticised but be encouraged to nurture, develop individualism and to explore the mind rather than conform to expectation and 'normality'. Many of the world's greatest works of art and prose were born from those minds many considered to be 'odd'.

Get the family to Spain Baz, suffer the flight with the kids it’s only 2+ hours & you’ll probably spend less money than you would in the UK

Iíd agree with this. Youíll get the weather and the prices are much lower.

Air travel (something I know a bit about) isnít too bad with kids nowadays.

Last flight I took, in to Frankfurt, I was sat next to a couple who had a 10-month old with them, they were connecting through Frankfurt and then flying to Abu Dhabi and onward to Brisbane, now, thatís a journey!

My youngest was 3 months when we took her to Cyprus which is a 4.5 hour flight, she was fine.

Went to Centre Parcs a couple of months ago and it really is quite expensive. Moreso than I expected.

You can, of course, take all your own food with you if youíre happy to be cooking whilst on holiday but you have to book the restaurants in advance if you want to eat during the busy periods.

The pool is ok for no more than a couple of visits but the woodland walks are relaxing and refreshing and loads for kids to do to tire them out. As Eddie says, everything else does cost extra so it really adds up.

Great for a long weekend but wouldnít go back for longer than that.

My daughter was 4 years old, took her to Menorca.

She absolutely loved it, the flight itself and going to the airport was a huge adventure. She even managed a brief nap on the plane.

My eldest was always a nightmare on planes, she’d fuck about for the duration of the flight & then as soon as we begin to descend she’d go to sleep

The Gower in South Wales is much nicer than Cornwall.

I recommended it to some French fiends and they loved it there.
