    Default The Good News Thread

I donít know about you lot but I occasionally/often ignore national news because itís usually depressing and certainly for the last couple of years boring, repetitive, confusing and down lifting.

Therefore, here is a thread to highlight those important hard-to-find news stories that get swallowed up by Brexit bla bla bla.

Also, any local news or personal achievements that need shouting about......

'Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings' - Salvador Dali 1904-1989

I think 'odd' is a good thing. Oddness shows originality, uniqueness and a desire to be different from the masses. Oddness is, maybe, only deemed 'odd' by the majority who are considered less odd but only by their own blinkered observations and understanding. Oddness should never be criticised but be encouraged to nurture, develop individualism and to explore the mind rather than conform to expectation and 'normality'. Many of the world's greatest works of art and prose were born from those minds many considered to be 'odd'.

Hereís some good news, Iím bringing 4 of my boys pals to the City ground for Brentford for his 12th birthday instead of him having a party. 2 Everton fans, 1 Utd, 1 Liverpool (I live in N Wales so those are the Ďlocalí teams). Managed to find a site selling the 150 Year red/gold shirts (new!) for £4.99 so they are getting those instead of a Ďparty bagí or whatever shite kids normally get to take home. In my mind this equals 4 new Forest fans

    Oh FFS.

Have a word with the club and see if you can arrange a stadium tour for the lads.

I arranged a party at the ground for my sonís 7th birthday many moons ago and they all absolutely loved it. I did too.

It would cause too much confusion if they were called Marathon too.

    Good idea for a thread.

The news people do tend to be biased towards a negative world view.

The late great Hans Rosling delighted in highlighting our ignorance about the positives across the world:

It only takes a second to score a goal.

I haven't had one of the bars since they changed the name. Perhaps they could change some of the names of other chocolate bars so I have a reason to avoid them too

I'm sure Galaxy used to be called Dove, although my mind could be playing tricks on me
