Default Meeting Psycho in Milton Keynes next weekend?

    http://www.collectormania.com/milton...-stuart-pearce

I know Psycho's appearance at Collectormania in Milton Keynes on the 17th of May has already been discussed briefly in another thread, but that was pretty much entirely a conversation about the Daily Mail, rather than the event itself. So, given that it's only about an hour from Nottingham on an otherwise uneventful Saturday (you can still get back home in time to watch the FA Cup final in the afternoon by the way), is anyone else planning on attending?

I'll be there! I've been to plenty of Collectormania events before and they're good fun. Even though they're primarily aimed at sci-fi fans, there have been sports guests in attendance for quite a while now alongside the usual TV and film actors, although I'm not sure I've ever known Psycho to be at one (at least not in Milton Keynes).

It's £15 for an autograph, which (if you're not familiar with how this works) Psycho will sign for you personally once it's your turn in the queue to meet him. He's going to be there from 10am to 3pm so I doubt anyone will have to queue for too long, given that there are dozens of other signing guests at the show who - with all due respect to Psycho - will be of far greater interest to most of the punters there than our manager. But I think what's more interesting is the opportunity to speak to him directly for a couple of minutes before he takes over at Forest. I've been trying to think of a couple of good questions to ask him but nothing's come to mind yet. I'll think of something though. You can also have a photo shoot with him for £25 (not my cup of tea personally, although the thought of wearing my 1992/3 Shipstones home shirt with PSYCHO 3 on the back to the event is giving me a few ideas for suitable poses if I decide to go for one after all.)

I'm really looking forward to it, and fortunately for me I'm spending that weekend at my parents' house just up the road in Northampton, so I can get to the show in about 20 minutes - but even if I was further up the M1 in Nottingham I'd be thinking the opportunity to meet and chat with Stuart Pearce would be too good to miss. It'd be nice to think that a few more members from the forum will be going - I'll be on the lookout for fellow Reds proudly wearing one of their Psycho-era home or away shirts that have been hidden away at the back of a cupboard since the late '90s.

What's more: free entry and free parking all day, and the chance to have a nose around the MK Dons' stadium whilst grown men dressed as stormtroopers and Doctor Who point guns at you. And I defy anyone not to be impressed by the roving gangs of remote-controlled R2 units.

Ask him if he wants to sign Lewis McGugan. Hope he says no and end a very annoying thread on this site.

In all seriousness, ask him what types of players he wants to bring in if you can (lower leagues or Prem, or mixture?).

Then just spend the rest of the time telling him we all love the guy etc, not that he needs reminding.

If everyone who goes could ask him if he knew what the Leeds score was that'd be perfect.

£32 to watch a meaningless final day defeat by Brighton? It's 2014 friend, not 1975.

Ask him if he will blow the whistle on the training methods disaster when the investigation is complete. make it public for the fans to know what's what. In other words, rubbish Davies for the cretin that he is.

He rocked the casbah. It went down quite well, except the Sharif didn't like it.

It was quite surreal really. Collectormania is mainly aimed at Sci-Fi fans, so there were a few wannabe Klingons about. An odd mix of football legends too though. Jack Charlton, Jimmy Greaves, Geoff Hurst, to name a few. I saw Psycho arrive and he immediately spent time catching up with Greavsie and Co before taking his seat. I got a ticket for the queue to meet him (number 65! Popular Chap). I was only going to shake his hand but as I got nearer I just had to buy a picture for him to autograph (big kid at heart still). When I introduced my 11 year old lad to him, he asked if he played for the Academy as “we’re looking for good players”. My impression of him was a really nice bloke, very engaging. It was nice to be able to shake his hand and wish him luck, and to welcome back a true Legend.
