Reid by a distance. Lansbury and Pato clear of the rest of the contenders.

Hobbs would have challenged if he had played more, same goes for Lichaj

Reid has to be player of the season, with Hobbs, Paterson and Lansbury also in the running. Lichaj always played quite well, but has been so injury prone hes not really got chance to get going.

I can't think of anyone else who really comes out with any credit. Darlow has forgotten how to make a save, Collins is just awful, Wilson is always broken, Lascelles has been awful since Hobbs got injured, Halford is just a poor player, Cox and Mackie don't score goals, Jara plays as well as George Weah's fake nephew, Majewski is like having a small cloud of mist in the middle of the park, Fox has been a poor addition, Derbyshire is terrible, Henderson is rubbish, Djebbour and Abdoun are like mythical characters.

Then you have players like Moussi, Greening and Harding who are all awful.

Need to bring through more like Osborn next season I reckon, and maybe pluck some gems like Paterson from the lower leagues.
A very accurate assessment to me chap. The striking dept in particular is a real car crash zone.

Big problem for me is the injuries. All the candidates mentioned have been injured, some for much of the season. Do we give it for good spells, prolonged effort or simply turning out in a hundred and one positions?

For classy play for me Reid, Lansbury, Cohen or Hobbs. For prolonged effort against the odds Paterson and Lascelles, who both started as reserves and have finished up fixtures in a crumbling team.

Pato gets my vote beings as both Reid and Lansbury are more senior players you expect them to step up to the plate and be counted upon in terms of both quality and performance but this lad in his first season at this level has not only stepped up when asked but also not hid like some of the other players, hopefully he can only get better.

This. Best player in the league by a mile. Even the games like West Ham where Pato took the plaudits he was behind everything.

We're not far from being a 1 man team

Think my short list would be :
    Reid
    Lansbury
    Paterson

    Winner
Paterson for such a young lad he has scored many goals with both feet and head.

That's not taking anything away from reidy or Lansbury but both have been injured (and have been missed in the first team)

Not far from a 0 man team then seeing he's out injured!

If Reidy doesn't win it'll be an absolute travesty. He will though, so its alright

Hobbs and Reid have pretty much played the same amount of league games this season.

should be given to collins, harding, or miller and hopefully a souness/ali dia-esque type bid will swiftly follow.

Even with a few injuries we continued to get results with Reid pulling the strings. As soon as he got injured we were fucked. The most creative player outside the Premiership.

Miller - really hit form and banged in a lot of goals...
    Pity they were for Yeovil.
    Seriously, in my opinion:
    1 Reid;
    2 Darlow;
    3 Paterson.

Number two is a bit left-field. He's been ok, but not great

I think 'odd' is a good thing. Oddness shows originality, uniqueness and a desire to be different from the masses. Oddness is, maybe, only deemed 'odd' by the majority who are considered less odd but only by their own blinkered observations and understanding. Oddness should never be criticised but be encouraged to nurture, develop individualism and to explore the mind rather than conform to expectation and 'normality'. Many of the world's greatest works of art and prose were born from those minds many considered to be 'odd'.

Darlow has managed to keep fit for the whole season.
He has coped with an ever changing back 4 in front of him.
He has had to cope with Jara playing like a big girl's blouse, Collins playing like... Collins, and a defensive midfield that is leakier than Wishee-Washee's bucket, prior to it being fixed.
On top of that, I don't think he has been at fault with more than a couple of goals, and has produced a level of consistency and some blinding saves to boot.

    From BBC website:

Nottingham Forest have lost only four of the 32 Championship games in which midfield play-maker Reid has figured. They have lost seven of the 10 in which the influential Irishman has not.

You beat me to that quotation!
Confirms the fact that there is only 1 real contender for the POTS... Andy Reid

And bear in mind, in two of those losses he was clearly not match-fit.

He's our most influential player and the best midfielder in the Championship.

Reid for me. Closely followed by pato. Reid is a complete professional on and off the pitch and made a great captain. Pato is developing into a fantastic footballer and I would be suprised if he's not in the prem soon

Reid will win it, and it won't even be close.

I think Lansbury is our key player (and indeed is a better all rounder than Reid), but it won't be enough for him to win it or get close to winning it.

    Reid by a landslide.

One of thise defeats was Blackpool at home where he only came on for a few minutes, and we were already down to 10 men

I didn't even think this was worth a discussion to be honest.. Reid by a country mile!

Then Hobbs, then Paterson, perhaps and Lansbury.

Lascelles was only good when Hobbs was babysitting him, since he had to go out with Collins he has looked nothing more than a sub-standard league one defender - really frustrating.

Darlow has had a good half season, and a really bad half season.

    And Mackie? haha - wow.
