1pt off the playoffs? Does that mean Brazil's time is almost up?

I'm with you. It's not so much the results, we have no chance with the way we are playing.

Nope. Wilson out again, Reid not even on bench so at least a few games away. Not enough to make a difference.

Only positive is Collins out under suspension.

Results-wise, since half-time at Bramall Lane on February 16th, we must have been the worse professional football team in the country. I think you might need to go all the way down to Hyde, bottom of the Conference with one win all season, to find a team in worse form.

Four points off, a decent goal difference, and still five games to go. Football is so much about confidence. Scoring two late goals to level tonight may very well give you that, and all you need is a win and you're right back in it, apparently with lots of players coming back at a very good time. Sadly, it seems to me you still have a very good chance of sneaking sixth place (and probably playing us!).

I wouldn't worry about it. It's not happening.

Just got back and I must admit even I felt as though our chances of the play-offs disappeared when the final whistle blew before we could nab that late winning goal we so desperately needed tonight. As the OP says (and in typical jerellis1 style) we could be just a point outside the play-offs by 2pm on Saturday, but knowing that that position would most probably be overturned by at least one of the clubs now above us by 5pm, I guess I'm officially in the 'would be surprised if we made it now' camp.

The performances have not improved, we got a 10-15 minute spell tonight of what we used to see and we pulled the game back from 1-3.
I cant see them turning that into anywhere near 90 mins which is what we would need to stand a chance in the play offs.

Be honest what would you all rather, Pearce fighting to keep us in the prem?

Or Pearce building a squad to take us to the prem?

I know what I'd rather throw me a few wins between now and may and I will be happy, and then go for it next season.

Away from home, at QPR, on the telly...what could POSSIBLY go wrong....

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

Tonight it finally died. We may be a point closer, but we require far too many teams to fare worse than ourselves. It's finished, give the kids a go. They cannot possibly be worse than Jara, Henderson or Collins.

I think that 4 points, even with few games in hand, will prove assailable this year. The spirit to fight back last night might just give us a foothold - but the next game has to be a win, no doubt. Now if we can just go out and get that win...

I can only imagine the ass whooping we'd receive should we actually scrape the playoffs. Not sure that would be of any benefit to anyone in the long run.

By the time we are mathematically out of reach, we'll probably win a couple. That is normally the way. We could even finish three points off.

Me? I want stuart taking us into the premier league. That way if we get relegated from there, people will have SP to thank for getting us there in the first place. If GB gets us there then SP has us relegated, peoples attitude will turn on him.
