    Default Hobbs, Vaughan, Fox, Djebbour....

time to look forward to next season. actually it's time to look forward to preseason and a few players leaving, with some better ones coming in.

as we seem to make transfers more complicated than they need to be, i was wondering what hobbs, vaughan, fox and dejbbour's statuses were for next season. some of them were definitely on loan with a fee to be paid at the end of the deal but did we ever pay those fees, or does that have to wait until the end of the season. we're counting on 2 of these players for next season but i'm concerned that the deals might not be as done as we thought. can anyone shed any light on the matter?

Hobbs and Djebbour already on permanents. I believe Vaughan and Fox are in the last years of their contracts at their respective clubs.

Who will be injured next season?

Hobbs has 4 years left on his contract at the end of this season, so at least that's one who you don't have to worry about.

If we sign perma-crock Vaughan AGAIN in the summer, I'll be convinced someone's taking bungs, but seeing as the manager and whatever-his-job-was who signed him twice have both left the club, I don't think it'll happen.

Didn't Danny Fox' contract include an option to sign him?
I'm afraid Vaughan's broken beyond repair.

I expect Vaughan to sign in the summer... the extended loan deal was almost just a show of good faith

He'd be downright silly not to. Fair point though

Djebbour and Hobbs ( eventually ) were signed permanently, Fox was signed on loan with an agreement to sign him permanently in the summer, though personally i would be happy if we cancelled that. Vaughan is just a loan atm, but i would be happy to sign him up, with an eye on his fitness status

    This.

And I'd keep Fox. Harding is a headless chicken in possession and Cohen may not be fit for the start of the season.

I'd like to see Fox with Hobson next to him and Reid in front of him before passing judgement. He's been pretty poor so far though

The Dog and Duck have made a bid for Rafik next season if he loses enough weight pre season.

Oy! I used to play for the Dog & Duck. He'd not have got in our side then.

Hobbs is finished for the year. No idea about Fox or Djebbour but i'd expect Vaughan to play some part at QPR.

Spoke to Djebbour last night at end season awards. He said he's finding it hard to settle in Nottingham culture, getting around, parking fines. He why can't people enjoy their lives in England and just chill out. He also said I want the ball into feet not to my head. He said in England the football mentality is old and needs to move with the times. Also Matt Derbyshire said "Cotterill is a twat who just want to ruin careers"

SP must have an extensive knowledge of young English players. Good times ahead hopefully

Think Fox agreed to sign for 3 years when his Southampton deal come to an end at the time he signed on loan. Hobbs is one for next season and Djebbour never really stood a chance with the way we were playing under BD. He could well improve if Pearce gets a decent partner for him. I think we need someone to lead the line, not a big targetman, just someone who can hold it up where needs be but knows where the goal is. I'm not sure who it should be tbh, so hpoing Pearce has an idea!

Well lets hope the Fox loan deal is structured the same way as the Hobbs one was, and we can get out of it if we need. He's been thoroughly underwhelming so far.

Hobbs is here and I'm glad.
I hope Pearce can pursuade Djabbour to stay, and we get a decent striker to partner him.

Fox could be useful in a more strengthened defence. Seeing as he's out of contract in the summer (and he already knows the club) I'd be happy to keep him.

Vaughan's injuries have been disappointing but when he played, he was great. I hope we sign him permanently. Surely we can't suffer the same injury problems next year? If his injury situation is still an issue, we definitely need to replace him with someone of similar DM qualities.

According to the official site Vaughan is the only one who is not guaranteed to be here next season.

    Djebbour:

Algerian striker Rafik Djebbour joined The Reds during the January transfer window, signing from Greek side Olympiacos.

The 29 year old, who had been on loan at Turkish side Sivasspor this season, signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at The City Ground.

Fox has also agreed a three-year contract at The City Ground, which will take effect after the conclusion of his loan agreement.

    This^ nails it.
I wouldn't be to quick to recruit Vaughan - biscuits.
Djebbour is rumoured to be on his way in the summer because he can't settle.
