fawaz is such a hero. as fans i think we all need to take a step back and treat the club with the cynicism it deserves. cannot stand listening to fans constantly flattering fawaz's ego. it only encourages the kind of madness we've had at the club since he came in.

Scathing and mardy article. "Within 2 minutes they'll have mentioned Clough and the cups" tosser.

Didn't read beyond the first lazy journalist sentence.

It only takes a second to score a goal.

I have been to every game this season and visited 79 other league grounds and at no time have I mentioned our past history to anyone I've chatted to. It's all about now!

This sort of journalism only serves to illustrate why I no longer buy newspapers.

It's a fair read. Not as bad as thought it would be.
The opening bit is bollox though. We are more than aware of our fall from grace. After all, we are the ones that have supported the club through it all.
One day we will get it right and there will be a hell of a party. And you know what I hope these tossers don't get an invite.

It's lazy journalistic cliche. Even though anyone under 40 won't remember us winning the European Cup. Anyone under 20 won't even remember us in the Premier League.

I'll be honest and say I am stuck in 1989 a bit. I love that team and anybody from it can do no wrong.

One of the best teams I have had the pleasure of seeing.
Unfortunately, the scouse were that bit better.
Hodge, Webb, Clough, Walker, Pearce. They'd have walked straight into any team in Europe those days.

Neil Heath who wrote that article is a massive forest fan. Don't think it's lazy at all. More balanced than anything either of the Taylors write.

The Scouse had a bigger squad, a bit more bite in midfield, and the advantage of always getting a penalty in front of the Kop, apart from that there wasn't much to choose.

Fawaz is borderline incompetent and needs people in that know what they're doing because to me, he doesn't seem to have a clue. Not bothered if he was involved in Kuwait football and a player for seven years and all this shit, for all his millions he keeps making mistakes.

The odd thing is, I've traveled a bit, and whenever I mention Nottingham Forest (or usually, when someone mentions it to me, as I always have a Forest badge on my jacket, even at work) it is inevitably they who bring up Forest's past success.

Yes, I'm sure there are Forest fans who maybe start conversations with "did you know we won back-to-back European Cups?" But I've not met many of them.

Our club, unlike many of the nouveau-riche who bloat the top of the Premier League, has a history worthy of celebration, and that's what football is all about.

Perhaps the BBC would do well to remember that, rather than fixating on the fortunes of the latest batch of newly-minted millionaires in the so-called "best league in the world".

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

I generally find that it is other teams fans that mention Clough and the european cups when I say I'm a Forest fan

This was the first Forest team I knew. Then we had the Collymore team as I was a teenager and we had the Van Hooijdonk promotion team when I was 16 - 17 ish. I'm 33 now and all my adult life we have been pretty shit and acheived nothing of note other than a couple of half decent seasons and play off meltdown!!

All my adult life we have been shit away from home too!!! An away day at some shit hole in Yorkshire or Crewe or Coventry will generally mean a dire performance and a defeat. Or that is how it seems.
