Default There may be trouble ahead

All that glitters is not gold, we are a club heading for some serious deep trouble, unless behind the scenes something radical changes.

We have a wonderful crop of young talented players, Darlow, Paterson, Lansbury and Lascells, who could expect them to allow their careers to stall whilst languishing in the mid table of the championship. I doubt we will be able to hold onto those in the summer. Particularly when less able players seem to be far more important to the future of the club.

It would appear the club may turn out to be an expensive marketing exercise, which failed to do its background checks.

Look at the predicament Leeds United face this morning and worry, because I know I am.

    Default Increasingly worried

'Stuart Pearce welcomes link to "outstanding" Forest job'

But now he has turned it down 48 hours later

Fawaz has also come out in the press saying Neil Warnock is basically bitter about the fact the Forest didn't offer him the job, whereas Warnock has said he rejected us

What the bloody hell is happening at our club

Fawaz needs to stop putting things out in the public domain so much.

I understand he wants to communicate with the fans but no other club from what I know EVER announces what manager they are lining up

You should have been worried when Davies was running the ship

Never mind, while there's moonlight and music and love and romance, we can at least face the music and dance.

I thin there was a clue to this iright at the end of McGovern's interview with the Post where he spoke about Hoddle et al. He mentioned that Pearce was interested "but wanted more than 9 games to prove himself". Presumably that's all he was offered.

Presumably that's all any of these managers are being offered which is why we won't get anyone half-decent

Pearce is reported to have said the timing is not right for him, but others have indicated it is a fear of failure.

Understandable. The fans need to chill out a bit or no one will take the job.

Fear and panic ensue after badly timed sacking. And that was just O'Driscol.

After relentlessly targeting Davies, now moving onto Fawaz. Nice.

    Bring Sean back I say

Fawaz is too trigger finger happy. He has sacked billy because if the derby result, silly reaction. A reaction that he wants noted in the press so he gets in the press

Fawaz has splashed the cash since he's been here but have we moved forward and is the club run better....

So the previous 7 games or so had nothing to do with his sacking...

The sacking I have no problem with.

The lack of having a replacement lined up and the offering of contracts just to the end of the season I have a massive problem with.

    There may well be....

I was a big advocate of Davies, because of his results and I think he's a good fit for Forest in the situation we're in. That is, a poorly structured club swaying annually into different management regimes, with no consistency or long term focus.

Davies is a short-term fast-track manager for me. Someone who can lift a club and motivate a team in short sharp bursts of energy, achieving better than average results over periods of a season. I'd always hoped that over a few years, those bursts of energy would coincide with the play-offs and come at the right time to push us over the line.

The reality of it is though, it papers over the cracks of what we are.

I think Fawaz needs to slow down and I really hope he takes his time over the next appointments. I say appointments because it's of longer term benefit to us to build from a solid foundation and stick with the approach whatever happens. That of course means that the fans also have to be patient too.

I'm gutted Davies didn't work out, because reality has kicked in. It didn't work and ultimately that means we're probably going to be hovering around this league for a few years at least. The fast track, deal-with-the-devil is over and it's time to take stock and be patient, for everybody associated with the club.

It's going to be tough though, because I don't have a short memory and recall exactly how it feels to be competing at the wrong end of this division (and worse). I hope we don't regress to this...
