Default In the Directors' Box last night......

Without wishing to cause any alarm, the only 'face' present that could be regarded as belonging to a potential managerial candidate was.........Dean Saunders.

Although the presence of Paul Hart and Gareth Southgate seemed to generate the interest amongst some of those around me who were unaware of their current roles with Charlton and the FA respectively.

He probably just wanted to witness the shambles in person.

He relegated both Doncaster and Wolves. Even as a player he was known for being a relegation specialist.

Still, he is friendly with the media, which is the most important thing.

He talks a load of pish. Commented on how Southampton's players run about a lot which is good. Bloody knob.

Shocking. He really is clueless. We need to stay away.

Can't be him, we only emply managers like Roberto Di Matteo and Guus Hiddink. The very idea that we're a knee jerk club who hasn't the professionalism or bottle to see a job through, have created a reputation which will frighten any decent manager off, and will land a League 1 style Cotterill man is simply impossible

Saunders is probably scouting for someone.

I've sat in the Directors box before next to Phil Brown who was scouting for someone, forget who now. Was concerned when I saw him!

Gus Poyet & his assistant was also there, probably just wanting to scout his son though.

Interesting point from a lad next to me, Andy Reid & Chris Cohen was also in the box, as the coaching staff was so thin on the ground last night would have been interesting having those two on the bench showing unity/encouragement.
Before you shout me down, I know its not the norm, but in view of whats happened what harm could it do.

I'd actually laugh if Saunders was named manager, it would really be a landmark in my life.

I simply cannot believe he is even in the running though, hope it's just a case of him watching his former side. Although, I always thought he had a stronger affiliation with Derby?

Perhaps a little bit of scouting, or something.. hopefully.

Sacking Billy was a knee jerk reaction. Fawaz's history, short as it is, will frighten most. Cotterill sacked after 1 hour, SOD after 4 months.....McLeish decided to walk.....and now Billy.

Yeah, also, Warnock suggesting no experienced manager will entertain the idea of managing Forest.

I think we're back to the 'iconic' manager days. Delusions of grandeur.

Someone needs to tap Fawaz and tell him we're in the same division as Yeovil Town, Barnsley and Bournemouth. As good as the Championship is, it's about as glamorous as a ride on a Blackpool donkey. Mould to your surroundings, know thy enemy and we'll be better off.

Which is ridiculous for me to say, because last time we was in the Premier League I was still learning the multiple chart.

    Stay calm.

It's hard to imagine I know, but I've noted even scarier out-of-work managers than Saunders in there over the seasons.

If they're not on a scouting brief for one of their mates, they're networking and putting themselves out there.
