It's easy to play down how good he was since he acted up being a **** but he was when he wanted to be, a damn good Championship midfielder.

My understanding of it was that Fawaz told him we were gunna push on, the season Montanier came in.
That's why when Burke was sold, him and Britt questioned it publicly on twitter and to be fair, you would wouldn't you? A lot of us questioned Burke's sale.
Think also like Britt, he just got sick of carrying us when we weren't going nowhere.

    16/17 - 17 games, 6 goals, 3 assists.
    15/16 - 28 games, 4 goals, 5 assists.
    14/15 - 39 games, 10 goals, 5 assists.
    13/14 - 29 games, 7 goals, 2 assists.
    12/13 - 32 games, 5 goals, 4 assists.

The season that he left us in January, he was actually on course to have his best ever season with us stats wise.
I wouldn't have him back now, he can't buy a game for Villa and in my eyes, he did the club dirty but can't say he wasn't good.

    Default Henri Lansbury

Surely, there must be a thread for Henri in the ex-players section I thought, but I couldn't find one.
Apologies if I have duplicated it here!
Now he is a highly paid Premiership player, I wonder if he will apply himself more to his football than his golf?
I see he got on a s a sub on Saturday.
He even scored until the goal was cancelled out by a piece of rather unusual refereeing!
    Hard lines, Henri.

Not sure Henri has the drive. Too rough. He's got a fairway to go before being PL standard. Wood putt him on the bench for now and maybe wedge him into the side later.

You have a comedic genius - and a power with words.
    Excellent.

You would have to go a fairway to find another golfing pun to add to the above.

Made a cameo appearance for Villa today at OT.
Imagine throwing away his whole career at Forest where he could have garnered legend status for a cameo appearance at Old Trafford.
    Wrong choice, son...

Suppose it depends what you want from a career, he left us 30ish months ago and has only player 30ish games so that 1 game month since he left hardly something to tell your grandkids.

Stoppage time of the match, scores level at 2-2... Villa have a corner and the ball falls to Lansbury 35 yards out. Does he play in a teammate or work the ball to a crossing position, or does he envision his mispelt forename being turned into puns on the back pages of the red tops tomorrow morning? Sure enough, he takes the selfish option and punts the ball high into the upper tiers. It was practically his only touch of the game too.

I feel a new thread coming on here.

Any particular reason ? I mean, you've got a lot of awful players to choose from.

    His good looks mainly.

Then I also felt he epitomised all thats wrong with the modern day footballer. Strolling around half cock whilst coining it in with his double sleeve tats & alice band, for me he was the catalyst for the last 10 years of shitness.

There was a player in there, he just couldnt be fucking bothered to leave it all out there, that seemed to rub off on others. The polar opposite of the leader he could & should have been.

Aye. I was well chuffed when we nabbed him for 1m. On his day he really looked the part, but what an ultimate let down, and what a bellend to boot.

Still, got 3 times what we paid for him so can't grumble.

I still have Harvey's interpretation (if it's wasn't Harvey, I beg his pardon and the real author) of the new stand's hospitality area as my desktop wallpaper, with Henri standing next to his bags of dollars.

Which constantly reminds me of players we've had who should have been winners, but just turned out to be whiners.
