    Default Brussels Sprouts

Christmas is nearly upon us, many traditions have grown around this period.

Now Brussels Sprouts seemingly are part of that tradition, some people hate this veg, at times with a passion. I find this very hard to understand, as a family we often enjoy sprouts when they are in season.

What's other members verdicts on this tasty treat ?.

They, along with mushy peas, are the only two foods that make me retch. Can't stand the bastards!

My girlfriend loves them, I can't stand them.

I'm willing to try them fried with bacon though as I've seen one or two TV chefs do.

I'm a fan of sprouts, especially when served with bacon or chestnuts. They are unfairly victimised.

Once they've had a bit of frost on 'em in the field, pick em off the stem, cook 'em gently ... Om nom nom nom

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

Sprouts now are different to what they used to be. They've diminished the chemicals that cause the bitterness to some people, so they now taste sweeter. Oh I loves em BTW.

Nice big, fresh and leafy sprouts are very nice. Nice with a decent roast with roast potatoes, roast parsnips and all the other roast stuff. Do like a nice roast dinner.

Sprouts are a bit like anal sex, if you are forced into liking them as a kid, you probably will never like it

I bought a sprout stalk for a quid from Lincoln Central Market this morning. We had them with Cod tonight and will have sprout soup tomorrow. Food of the Gods.
