    Default Nathan Tyson

From what I have read and understand (correct me if I am wrong), Nathan Tyson has only been offered an extension to his current contract and not a new deal. Does this mean that we are trying to get away with not giving him a pay rise, and so if he does decide to leave due to this, the club can try and absolve all blame by saying they offered him a deal to stay effectively making him the villan? Is this the deal with Clingan too?

I hope this isn't the case and the club are not trying to slyly cut costs already (although the Earnshaw signing would suggest not)

I imagine there is a pay rise upon promotion in his contract, so an extension would see his pay go up.

    Talk to me, Goose.

Maybe he was happy with his deal and he might get a new contract if he stays fit. With his previous record it seems it would be a bit silly to offer him a massive increase if he is going to be sidelined, and im sure he understands that.
Not sure about Clingan though - I doubt we would want to drive away 2 more players with good potential for the up coming season.

As Rich said...He would have most probably a pay increase inbuilt into his contract for promotion.

Has he really done anything to deserve a brand new deal with a big pay increase? I would say not.

If he got one theres 10 or 11 players who could demand the exact same treatment.

It just seemed strange that these two haven't signed yet and there has been some rumoured interest in them both.* Don't want their heads being turned by bigger pay days ala Commons.

Given that Tyson's goal return hasn't been great, and he has struggled with injuries, it wouldn't surprise me if Colin Calderwood waited to see how he coped with the step up before committing the club to a long contract with Tyson.

There are better options out there. If we did get offered 1m then I personally would bite their hand off. Too injury prone and I can't see him scoring 20 goals a year. Although I do like the bloke and wouldn't complain if we kept him.

At least wait untill January to see if they have actually 'cured' his injury problem before shipping him off though.

Assuming Agogo buggers off to Egypt, and Holt just well...buggers off, that leaves us only with Tyson and Earnshaw as 'experienced' strikers. As mentioned, with Tyson's ability to break his legs when he gets into a cold sweat, it would seem we are going to have to rely heavily on our younger contingent of strikers.

This is all guessing that CC, with the remaining transfer budget, doesn't look into buying any more strikers, taking into account we need a suitable replacement for Commons. I suppose.

    Any news on Ormerod?

A 30-year old Hungarian looks set to join us.

Don't think Tyson will go to be honest.

Think Forest will look at a young Prem striker on loan.

The 3 I'd go for, if at all possible are Daniel Sturridge, Febian Brandy and Ben Sahar.

    Tyson will join us,

We are discussing a price, i suspect it will be in the region of 1.2 - 1.4 mill

Given his injury record, you'd definetly be paying over the odds.

Maybe even Fraizer Campbell if he doesn't go back to hull from United.

He'd be the nest youngster we could get, but I don't feel he'll be available.

That's right. You waste all your playoff money.

I thought all our players were supposed to be crap and not good enough for the Championship, let alone Bristol?

With United casting their eyes on Benzema this season , we should try and see whether Manyoo is able to loan us their angolian striker Manucho since there's no way he's going to break into the united first team with Tevez & Rooney and perhaps benzema.

Im not sure, hasn't he been at Panithanaikos on loan ? Rather get in some youthful players wanting to prove themselves - they can sometimes have as much hunger to win as the home grown players.

I think you'll find about 95% of the posters here think you are an arse.

    Nothing wrong with that either.

I'd say you're within about 5% with that figure. More or less. But mainly more.
