Default referees who choose to ignore the rules of the game

If, after the referee has given the signal for a PK to be taken, and before the ball is in play, a colleague of the player taking the kick encroaches into the penalty-area or within ten yards of the penalty-mark, the referee shall, nevertheless, allow the kick to proceed. If a goal is scored, it shall be disallowed, and the kick retaken.
The players concerned shall be cautioned.
From the laws of the game.

    Watch Barnsley's penalty.

    Clueless or willfull ignorance?

he was quite happy to book Henderson for removing his shirt, but when a player runs into the box RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM he decides to let it go. wtf.

Someone mentioned the uncontested drop ball as well. Barnsley player passes it to the goalkeeper, keeper misses it and it goes out of play. He gives a f*cking goal kick. What a clown that bloke was.

I thought Lansbury passed it back?

Yeh landsbury played it back from half way line, keeper dived to get cos it wasn't a great pass back and touched it before it went out of play

Ah, my bad I thought a Barnsleh player knocked it back but regardless Pollitt got a touch.

As for penalty encroachment, happens on every kick, including ours.

Yeah Lansbury passed it back to the opposition keeper, he misjudged it and after taking a touch it went behind him and out for a....goal kick? What the hell was that about?
To be fair, seeing as it was a fair play thing if the ref did give us a corner we'd have just knocked it out for a goal kick again.

Pollit should have just let it go off for a goal kick. It was clear Lansbury put a bit of extra oomph in it to take the piss, after their player made a dramatic recovery from a head 'injury'.

What made me laugh was when we took a free kick two yards from where the foul was, he made us retake it, then shortly after, Barnsley took a free kick 10 yards from where it should have been and that was ok.

I don't know why they're fussy on some things and then not on others. 2 yards away, nobody cares, 10 yards away takes the piss. Same with throw ins.

Refs really don't help themselves with their inconsistent interpretations. The worst one was the foul that Moussi made to give away the penalty was the same one their centre back did on Cox just outside the box as he went to close their keeper down. Same foul, one is a penalty, one isn't even a foul. The officials club can try and defend it all they want but their is no justification for that.

I'm convinced it was a Barnsley player?

Sometimes it's only little decisions here and there, but they make the difference. The fact that he made us re-take a free kick because the ball was 2 yards away from where it was supposed to be was quite frankly pathetic.
