There’s a decent Ubisoft sale on at the minute with upto 60% off some games. South Park, Watch Dogs 2, Ghost Recon, Trials Fusion, Far Cry, Assassins Creed... some good titles there, you can pretty much get 2 for the price of 1. Or Assassins Creed Black Flag, Ubity and Syndicate all for £28 (the latter two are a bit uninspiring but Black Flag is great... pirates!).

Just seen some gameplay for Two Point Hospital and it does look the same as Theme Hospital, which is great. It will sell ok and give them a platform for whatever they do next. I’m a bit fed up of shooters, sports and racers at the minute. Be nice to be saving people for once.

That said I have been dabbling in Ghost Recon Wildlands which is an open world game so it’s pretty cool you can play it stealthily and tactically or just go balls out guns blazing but it is such a big game it will no doubt start to feel a bit grindy soon. As it is open world it’s a game you can pick up and play a bit then forget it for a week.

Not sure there’s many games with strong narratives coming out these days. RDR2 should give me that fix.

Played Life Is Strange: Before the Storm over the weekend.

Not quite got the gut punch of the first game, but still fun. More a feeling of vindication.

Back to Yakuza 5 this week. I've managed to play 0, Kiwami, watch the cutscenes of 2 and 3, finished 4 and now onto 5 since the new year. Then 6 comes out next month before Kiwami 2 is out in August. One of the best video game series I've ever played, absolutely mental.

    Anyone played Fallout 4?

Picked it up for Ä25 but Iím having all sorts of problems being able to actually shoot anything. It seems you have to use that weird thing-that-slows-down-time-and-allows-you-to-pick-targets, but I must be doing something wrong as I seemingly always somehow miss, and then get brutally murdered.

Games usually hook me, and this one is supposed to be fantastic, but Iím not getting it!

I have and found it awful mate. Your setup/stats detirmine how likely you are too hit (e.g. if you have high perception you've more chance of shooting enemies), so maybe restart or try a different form of attack?

As a game I found it dull as dishwater. The othe Fallout games were great, but 4 was just boring beyond belief.

I'm most shocked that it cost Ä25!

Is it everytime you use VARs? Is that what it's even called? Is it the same kind of enemy? Some are resistant to gunfire until you get to a certain.

I agree actually, though not for the same reasons.

It's stale, and they messed up the only new feature (settlements) by having idiot people who can't work out stuff for themselves.

RPGs have developed and gone way past what Fallout can offer now. It was almost sad.

Had the same problem Chris. Loved Fallout 3 and New Vegas but dunno 4 just seems a bit 'off' to me. Haven't got round to finishing it yet though so will maybe give it another go at some point.

Well, Iím glad it isnít just me then.

I - usually - love open world games, GTA, Red Dead Redemption, that sort of thing, but for all the premise Fallout 4 offered (and the storyline reads great) it just hasnít grabbed me.

You have to seemingly pick up everything or youíll miss a crucial piece of ďsomethingĒ that comes in handy later on, and you then have to shuttle back and forth stashing it all, which just interrupts the flow of the game. That and it expects you to be psychic in how you solve many of the puzzles, and that the enemy AI can seemingly pick you off at will, whilst your character canít hit a cowís arse with a banjo.

Fallout 4 is considered to be quite shite among Fallout elitists as it shuns it's RPG roots for a more Action orientated game.

Shooting mechanics are perfectly fine though it's one of things people that dislike 4 all agree on.

Now Fallout 4 VR is a fucking mess blatant cash grab that leaves me with little hope for Skyrim VR.

Try Yakuza 0 Chris. It's not open world, more open city. And you get soft core porn in it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYpN2LjkUmk

I'm not keen on these Open World games as a rule, but agree with Bangerz that Fall Out 3 & New Vegas were both brill. They just had a ton of character & atmosphere.

4 doesn't have that, and I found it bland as fuck.

Some weren't passing to each other so it went along the lines of

"I dont want discussion i just want a show of hands"

    "Who has heard of fortnite?"

    All hands thrust up enthusiastically

    "Who knows what squads is?"

    All hands thrust up enthusiastically

"Who has played squads with strangers?"

    All hands up

"Who has jumped out the bus with two other squad members and seen the Fourth squad member go Tilted Towers on their own?"

    All hands thrust up again

"Who has heard that player because he has dumped his team mates and gone alone to a place packed with other players, get killed straight away?"

    All hands thrust up enthusiastically

"Who has called that player a dick under your breath for ditching his team mates?"

Few giggles but all hands thrust up again

"Right well don't be that dick when there's a pass on. None of you will win this on your own. Get your head up, pass the ball and it'll come."

We won.... nothing to do with the speech like but it made them all laugh.

Recently got into Fortnite too as i used to play PUBG quite a lot.

Fortnite is a much, much easier game than PUBG and it's incredibly fun too. Yet to win a solo game but got a few wins in Duo and Squads with friends.

I think thats whats got me with it, the fun bit.

Its what computer games used to be.

Its what got me into gaming...

    Got a half hour spare?

Pick up the controller and play... like the old mega drive and master system days... no back story or side missions, no advantages because you have brought something somebody else cant afford just you V 99 other people in a fight to the death.

    Brilliant concept.

Practice mate haha. It is very difficult but once you are used to it its fine. I'd suggest a bat for hitting the flying things though.

    3rd person view helps too.
