Here's the article about real driver input.

    https://www.racefans.net/2020/05/14/...2020s-realism/

AS for TC, it's why I've always used the right stick for throttle (forward) and brake (back), especially on the motogp games, you can ease the throttle on. Unfortunately when I tried to map those controls to F1 it just fucked everything up, so the buttons made no sense. I reverted to R2, which took some getting used to and on the PS4 it is possible to control it but not as much as the right stick

Put a couple of hours in yesterday. Locked performance over resolution and the game runs buttery smooth and looks fantastic. Still getting used to the combat mechanics but I see real potential here too; nice mix of tactical action and full on slasher. Bit left-field but the combat reminded me of early Batman. Also liking the fact that you get little by way of assistance e.g. radar etc meaning you have to approach set pieces with caution and map the area mentally first. As a side note, playing cinema mode i.e. Japanese with English subtitles and this, for me, adds to the experience.

I can't speak for the Xbox One controller but it certainly doesn't help that the triggers on the Dualshock 4 offer very little resistance

I've actually bought myself a Nacon Revolution PS4 controller and the triggers have much more resistance making it easier to accelerate smoothly in racing games

A colleague of mine who is seriously into e-Sports told me the standard controllers are rubbish for racing games and if youíre serious about it, you should invest in a decent wheel-pedal setup and a proper racing-seat.

He (of course) has a rig set up in his gaming room that cost I am told about Ä2.000

Wheel - definitely. Racing seat - not so much.

I'm enjoying it too. Once the game opens up it gets a lot better.

One of the few games that is doing open world exploration right by actually making the exploration aspect a bit of a mystery.

Is it ok to play sitting on the end of your bed with an old Amiga joystick?

Recently got the Platinum for Days Gone, brill game. Great story. Those fucking hordes, jesus.

Last of Us Part II, really good. Story was great but thought it's application was a bit of a mess.

I have Ghost of Tsushima but haven't got into yet, has been a busier weekend than I imagined.

Finished The Last Of Us Part 2, I think it's the best game I have ever played. I miss it already.

Playing Uncharted 4 now and as good as the gameplay is, having experienced the story of TLOU2 so recently, it seems very superficial.

Although my loyalties are forever with Ellie, I enjoyed my time with Abby.

    That’s how I felt about RDR2.

Hope there’s more games like them in the next gen. The video games market has always been saturated, it’s rare something truly special comes along.

I think I ended up preferring Abby, Ellie annoyed me a bit in the final third of the game despite hating Abby with every fibre of my being for the first third. I was going to start a New Game+ but I don't think it will be the same when you know what's coming.

Yes, RDR2 is the game prior to this that made me feel the same.

My biggest gripe with TLOU2 is that it being a video game is a detriment to itself and to the message it's trying to convey (though the message is overdone in media). The whole "Revenge is bad" message falls flat when the funnest thing to do in that game is to get revenge and kill people.

Also the final 2 hours are just flat out bad. The game should've ended at the farmhouse scene rather than to drag on for another 2 hours and end with one of the most pathetically bad "Final bosses" of this generation.

I also liked Abby a lot more than Ellie too. Ellie came out of that game fully unlikable.

RDR2 is magnificent, the single-player campaign is my favourite game of the last couple of years.

Itís such a pity Rockstar have so neglected the online part of it.

Red Dead 2 is my favourite game ever. I just love the feeling of being in a Western. For years I watched countless black and white, grainy Westerns whilst with my Granddad over the summer holidays and whenever we were off school. I didn't really like them, and would sometimes wonder outside or whatever.

Obviously RDR came out in 2010 but that didn't hit me quite like RDR2 did. Maybe it's my age, or that my Nan passed away in 2016, but sticking RDR2 on now and heading off into the hills to hunt is just perfect for me to feel like I'm in a Western or on that bloody settee.

It's going to be my birthday treat for a while, I did last year. Order a maccies, and eat it whilst getting eaten be a bear, or shot at by U.S Marshalls. Lovely.

Still not done anything on RDR2, it just feels like I have to have time to commit and that's off putting.

I've downloaded NBA2K20 because I like basketball and basketball games when younger, it's so full of shit that's not basketball it's ridiculous. Thought I'd start a player and spent more time skipping scenes than playing, let alone the haircuts, tattoos, clothes social shit, I just wanted to play basketball. I'm deleting it, I think.

Yeah, went in the delete folder an hour after I started.

Let us know what you think, be interested to see what you rek with your 16-bit history.

I really can't get on with it. Way too much of the game playing itself, and "sim" style content for me.

Was playing SNES Sunset Riders with the missus last night. That bitesized arcadey fun is more my cuppa cha. She was piss funny too, cheering every time she dodged a bullet

Any love on here for MLB The Show? Steep learning curve but once you're in it is a top-drawer sim. Show's the big footy fanchises up in lots of ways.

Yep, big fan but I don't buy it every year. I am a Baseball fan though.
