He'll do us until May but then younger, fresher and frankly better legs will be required.

Thought he had one of his better games yesterday. An all-action, combative role. Whilst a lot didn't come off he was always available and looking to make things happen, even managed a few of his longer range passes. He's been much worse - personally I thought he was poor against Leeds, seemed to be forever failing to pull off the impossible and misplacing simple passes.

I'm not sure I'd say he's finished, but he's certainly inconsistent. He's still capable of having good games (West Brom etc) but can be infuriating when things aren't working for him as literally everything seems to go wrong.

Does anyone know if Geddy out of contract this summer, or do we have him for another year?

Contract runs until the end of the 20/21 season, according to his Wikipedia page.

They have such info on Wiki now? Well I never. Cheers Congo.

Wonder what will happen with him this season

I was actually impressed by how much he contributed to this season gone, I really didn't expect anything out of him after last year, but I also think he's a prime example of what needs replacing for a genuine promotion push.

His performance against West Brom will live in memory for a long time. I will always curse their goalkeeper for saving his shot from halfway line! Only Carvalho's last performance has matched it.

Contract ends end of next season like the majority of our contracted players do.

It's such a tough line. I don't think we should make too many changes to the squad.

    Dawson
    Watson
    Guedioura
    Murphy

    All on last contracts.

Can see Dawson, Guedioura, Murphy maybe staying as 4th and 5th choices but I think Watson could be let go tomorrow without needing a replacement. Same for Hefele but he is contracted to 2021 unfortunately.

Out of those 4 I'd personally only keep Dawson tbh. More with a view to an off-field role at the club.

We need players like all 4 of them in their prime really. I wouldn't be against any of them staying, just we can't kid ourselves they'll do the biz for more than a handful of games throughout the season and thus, like you say, be 4th/5th choices.

Whoever the manager is next season, it's only fair to expect promotion if they're given more promotion-ready players.

I could even see Dawson as 6th choice CB next season. With you on the reason for staying.

If they 4th/5th choice they would then need replacing if they left ? That is the tough predicament on buying too many over 30s. I certainly don't think they can be relied upon to play too many games in a season and even miss out on a few squads but hopefully seeing as they contracted we can make use of their experience when needed ?

What we need to look at for me.

    1. Do we genuine competition for Pantilimon
    2. Look to improve on first choice RB and LB.
    3. Do we keep Darikwa then if Cash/Richardson can cover RB.
    4. We need to replace Colback/Pele with Yates/Yacob the major comp to them. Guedioura 5th choice.
    5. Replace Ansarifard/Bonatini with genuine competition for Grabban.
    6. Maybe number 5 is Walker. Then they will probably look for a young Murphy (hopefully with mobility and a sharp mind) to add to it.

When he brings his passing A game he's a real asset to the side

It could make sense if he's looking into going into coaching and he does come back from his injury, to let him concentrate on the coaching, but keep his player registration, just in case of emergency.

Guediouras one of the few players worth paying to watch on his day.

Carvalho, Lolley, Gueds have all got something out the ordinary up their sleeve, give me a player like that any day of the week. Players constantly falling over for cheap free kicks limit the entertainment.

Agree with most of this except

    a. Richardson? Robinson.
    b. Ansarifard seems a decent player so I'd keep him here.

Now that Bolton have been told they must play their last two games by the EFL, it might be a youth team that turns up next week and so maybe giving Jayden Richardson a chance would be good. I would definitely keep Ansarifard as well, I think he’s got potential, now he’s some minutes on the clock.

Something I really hope that we clamp down on in pre-season, is going to ground so easily with said players.

I'd love to see another 25-27 y/o Geddy here next year.

Tony Stark is the man to help there, on recent evidence.

    Default Adlene Guedioura

It seems further evidence has emerged of Forest Scientists trying to clone Adlene:

Always happy to see Gueds on the pitch, frequently coming on as a sub you knew the midfield was in good hands...really enjoyed seeing him back in red though we all know his career is in its final moments, if he’s happy to be backup and be a positive force backstage (Especially with any french speaking players) then we should keep him until he wants to hang up his boots

Economy of movement because he's so good at shifting the ball about. Think he's got a couple of years left at this level.

Played well at the start of the season, always makes a positive impact when he comes on. Been unlucky to sit out the passing game at the end of the season, he's a better fit than the two lads who finished at the base.

Remains one of the few Forest players worth the entrance fee, bit too adventurous for the Martin unfortunately.

Played as Algeria brushed aside Kenya 2-0 - didn’t see much of him in highlights tho

Had a really good game this evening by most accounts. I saw the first half, he looked solid enough, Algeria dirty as anything though.

He was massively underused last season. For me he is still our best midfielder but needs consistent games to stay in form. Its no surprise he is playing well at international level.
