An issue out of the club's control is currently delaying matters but I am extremely confident it will be resolved so we can reach a positive outcome.
Everyone involved is acutely aware that time is of the essence and we are working around the clock to get a deal done at the earliest opportunity.
I'm sorry that I can't reveal more but, as is normal practice, non-disclosure agreements have been signed, limiting what I can tell you at this stage.

That sounds like there are issues with the Receiver of Revenue to me?

Have Notts been taken over yet? The phoenix started to rise from the ashes?

So the three alleged bidders waiting to pounce when they go into admin are The South African's (who nobody has any clue who they actually are), Norman Smurthwaite (who was hounded out of Port Vale) & Alex May (a convincted fraudster under a new name) - two of which are more concerned about the land Notts sit on than the actual club.

It's looking particuarly grim for them if the rumours are true.
Administration looks more and more certain for Notts. Expect Smurthwaite to take it on and the only way the club can be viable for the future is sell Meadow Lane and look to build a 10,000 stadium out of town. More problems there though not sure our council's are the most visionary, plus Basford are on the rise with ambitious ownership. It will take skill and luck to steer Notts out of this mess.

Well apparently lots of jobs have gone and no one even in the upper positions in the club know anything about the takeovers as Hardy is dealing with it all himself. The Fawaz is strong in Hardy I think.

    Oh FFS.

For someone who set his heart on helping the club, Hardy has done just about the worst possible job. And mucked up his own life, too.

Talking of farce, „Norman Smurthwaite“ sounds like a character out of an Ealing comedy.

The ground isn’t theirs to sell. The only way they could profit is if the council make them an offer to leave so they can sell the land to property developers and make a bigger profit themselves.

Personally I think County are finished if they leave Meadow Lane to move somewhere out of town. It’s about the only good thing going for them at the moment.

    .
There's always the rumours of this. And always meant to be rumours of housing redevelopment plans that have been seen by somebody.

Personally think Meadow Lane as a 20k all seater has killed the experience of watching Notts. At least since they last dropped out of the second tier twenty years ago. Might not be such a bad thing to move. Though fans will be attached and hate the idea

He is Fawaz in disguise: an anagram for "Norman Smurthwaite" is "Amman nuts worthier".

Used to be on this day we'd discover we had a home game same day as Notts and theyd make us move.

I wonder how many more leagues they'd have to drop before we could be allowed to play on the same day?

The old ground suited County, the main stand had a wooden floor and made some racket at big games.
I think similar with Derby as well, the Baseball Ground had that old football vibe and atmosphere to it.

I dunno, depends where they would build it. They are still the inner city club at the moment with a visible presence, if they move out of sight they could just become an irrelevant non league club.

Loved going to the old Meadow Lane with standing on all sides.

They're timing was bad. They made the top flight just in time for the Taylor Report. And left again the year before the Premier League started.

Condemned Notts to a 20k all seater mortuary for less than 5k to sit in and watch lower league football.

On a serious note, their fixtures aren't released till July 3. Non league watching mate tells me that non league fixtures are always this late as it allows time for clubs which go bust to be replaced in the pyramid. Might be relevant for Notts!
