    Default Rice?

    Hi guys

I'm making some chicken kebab type things tonight - oregano, lemon, garlic, peppers, red onions, courgette, shrooms that kind of thing.

I want some kind of rice to go with it - any ideas for interesting rice?

    Long grain rice.

Marinate the chicken in oyster sauce, garlic and ginger.

    Bingo.

Plain rice. The best rice of all shouldn't be tarted up but eaten as nature was intended.

I think 'odd' is a good thing. Oddness shows originality, uniqueness and a desire to be different from the masses. Oddness is, maybe, only deemed 'odd' by the majority who are considered less odd but only by their own blinkered observations and understanding. Oddness should never be criticised but be encouraged to nurture, develop individualism and to explore the mind rather than conform to expectation and 'normality'. Many of the world's greatest works of art and prose were born from those minds many considered to be 'odd'.

Make it work. We live in a multi cultural society, why should our food be subjected to these 'divides' that people have fought so hard to bring down?

    Well played sir.

Perhaps incorporate a Yorkshire pudding in there somewhere.

You're making a grave error. If it's truly Greek style, grill the chicken and melt some haloumi over it. Then wrap it in a flat bread. Knock up a Greek salad to go with.

    Delicious.

    UPDATE:

    The kebabs went well

Chicken marinated in lemon/olive oil/oregano/garlic - on skewers with courgette, red onion and red pepper

Rice - I went for basmati, chicken stock and cumin - it worked great.

No crackers but it was enough.

Excellent thanks Moloney - that last one sounds brilliant - maybe over the weekend.
