In French "Le Fondre" can mean "the meltdown".

Personally, I think he's one of the best strikers available that we could possibly hope to sign. If Reading would be willing to sell to a team chasing promotion (which I doubt), and his attitude isn't a problem, then I'd be very pleased if we pulled this off.

You have to wonder why he can't get in their team. He scores plenty of goals. Is he a bit of a cock or something?

He would get lost up front on his own so not really what we need.

Most his goals have been from bench

I always felt that if they'd have played him consistently last season they might have had more chance of hanging in the Premier League.

Other than his finishing, which is lethal, he is a complete passenger.

You can weigh up whether you'd be willing to regularly accommodate such a player in your team. It's a personal choice and I have a fair idea what Billy's would be.

Would we create the chances without the hard working striker, like Cox and Halford? Could we with just a poacher? Or could we go two up?

Might work with him and Halford or Hendo up front. He is a poacher and a decent finisher. Not a lone striker though.

Would be a pointless signing other than coming off the bench if we needed a goal.

I find it surprising Reading want to let him go, especially with Sharp going back to Southampton.

I think he could do a job. He is a decent finisher, a bit of a fox in the box type. Concerning he has never seemed to play regularly for Reading mind with Adkins and Mcdermott rarely giving him 90 mins. He has scored at prem level as well as champ level mind. Would have to play in a 2 up front. But if he is going to Leeds, fair enough. Hope we are getting better but not currently convinced.

Tidy hatrick today. Scored goals that Cox doesn't. Presumably Adkins wants to keep him now.

Scored three goals in first half hour of yesterdays game - how many of our current forwards could do that?

A proven goal-scorer in the Championship - must be worth a punt for 800,000

Hopefully this is the "secret striker deal" Farwaz has quietly been working on the for the past month. Hopefull le Fordre's price hasnt gone up since yesterdays phenomenal display
