I'll be a little surprised to see him getting much game time in the Premiership, but it's been pretty clear for a while now that Lewis is unlikely to remain with us. Good luck to him. I hope that he manages to find the motivation he needs to be a success.

He can have a big impact off the bench in the Prem too, no doubt.

Adam Le Fondre - not a player you would say would be cut out for Prem, but off the bench has rescued most of Reading's points.

Players like McGugan are worth having, even for all his downfalls. Very valuable.

He's always done well against Cardiff so I'm not surprised they are sniffing around.

A Premier League contract would set him up for life, so it would be churlish for us to say he wouldn't want to take an opportunity to play in the Premier League.

Think he'll do well there and wow the Prem a bit, but then fade away. Certainly think that his time with us is over regardless, which is a bit of a shame but a good opportunity for others.

Given the choice Id sooner have Lansbury every time.

He is not making a good enough impression with the manager to command a starting place. He is a good player when he is in the mood to perform. Far to inconsistent to ever be a top player. I would be surprised if Any premier league club comes in for him TBH but then Cardiff might go down the WBA route and spend big money on championship players and if the bounce and come back down then they will have a good foundation to go back up at the first attempt.

People are upset we've not given him a contract yet this season. People were happy to release him a few months ago, now he kept his cool with a few spot kicks and scored off the bench a few times it's a travesty!
Can't win really as we actually renewed Dex's deal and people are calling that a bad bit of business too

Really dont want Mcgugan to go, no matter what your opinion he is a good player to have and still young, anyway nothing beats having a home grown player in the team.

I'd like to see him stay as an impact sub as he certainly has an eye for goal. I can also understand that he probably wwouldn't be content with that.

We've got too many central midfielders on the books, so not worth matching Premiership wages to keep him here.

They can have him if I'm honest, we're better off without him.

Yeah, he's scored 6 goals. 2 heavily deflected, and 2 penalties. He hasn't done much at all for a very long time now, and went hiding when we needed him last season.

He wouldn't make the Cardiff team at all. Cardiff will be going down anyway.

I agree it is not worth paying prepmiership level wages for him. If he wants to stay and isn't after a big jump in wages, maybe.

Say what you like about him but we'd have been in a much worse position than we are now without him

Unless other good stuff had happened. But anyone who gets him will give him a 2-3 year deal and look at him over any three seasons... you'd be able to make one consistent season out of his performances across three. And by consistent I don't mean not playing badly, I mean playing well, to his natural ability (although obviously not his utmost best all the time).

His salary next season, wherever he is, will be defined by how good he is at his very best, so he'll be overpriced to retain. Still, if Fawaz needs a car fewer than he's got... he's been useful through a bewilderingly barren period, though someone always is during such times.

McGugan was our second top goalscorer this season on 8 goals. Considering the minutes he played in comparison to many of the others I think certainly wouldn't mind if he was given a new deal. But, it does feel like it's time to move on, shame we can't cash in on his hype.

He's a very good impact player, despite his faults. Offer him a new deal, and if he isn't asking for silly money - Great, sign him up as we can always sell him later.. But if he's after daft money or wants to move on to pastures new? Thanks for the goals this year, and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out - sorted!

I'm not sure we could have "cashed him in".

He's been available for free since January, and he's had no offers?

    No road map necessary sometimes.

He is lazy, his off the ball movement is beyond poor. He will get eaten for lunch in the Prem. I would question his "footballing intelligence".

No doubt NLN will be sniffing around.

He does seem to have a penchant for snapping up our cast offs.

It annoys me when I read interviews with Billy saying "I hope Lewis will stay but I would completely understand if he wanted to move on to find a new challenge", well if you hope he stays, why don't you at least offer him a contract? If it's long term issues just put a 1 year extension on the table.
