Default Vote of Thanks for Farwaz, Billy D and, particulalrly, the Team

This season has been the second in succession that has been incredibly memorable.
Farwaz and his family came in and acquired the Club and effectively ended a period of uncertainty over our future that was extremely upsetting for the old die-hards and younger fans alike.
Yes, there were some errors of judgement that were made.
the debates will carry on I am sure as to whether the removal of SO'D was handled properly.
The most glaring error of judgement was the appointment of McLeish - a poor, poor manager with limited track record and no grasp of the task facing him at Forest.
However, it is an ill-wind that blows nobody any good, and the resultant appointment of Billy D was, to my mind, an excellent one.
Through it all though, the team have coped with different managers and different footballing philosophies.
They have experienced a great deal of uncertainty and that surely is partly why heads dropped and collective team performances suffered.
At the start of the season (and I have been and checked), the consensus was that we should aspire to be mid-table or above, with the play-off positions an unexpected bonus.
By the time Billy D was appointed the aspiration was "to avoid relegation".
That we have and are still challenging for a play-off position, however remote the possibility is as I write, is something that I for one would like to express my thanks for to the 3 main protagonists.
So, Farwaz, Billy and the members of the team - thanks for the progress we have made this season, and I am looking forward to seeing Forest mount a serious challenge for automatic promotion against a more settled and stable backdrop.
    Come on You Reds!

Agree with all of the post. For the first period in quite sime time I am optimitic about being a Forest fan. I think we have the right people in place to start putting the club back where it should be, in the Premiership. Lets work towards taking the place of some of the Premiership pretenders. the Wigans of this world. COYR.

    Come on you Forest Men!

And I agree with your sentiments.

I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

    Progress? Yes

Massive opportunity missedto get out of a poor division before the flood of parachute payments? Certainly.

Next season will be a lot tougher with fairplay .

I wouldnt say it was progress really, more its been an interesting start.

New owner, and largely a new squad.

The club doesnt really feel like it did in the preceding decade.

Next season the target absolutely has to be promotion. It will be interesting to see what Fawaz does. With FFP coming in, will he look to cut costs? Or will he say sod it and go for it.

Its been a very up and down year, with crazy decisions a plenty, but also some very good ones.

I thank Fawaz for taking over.

Still got to prove himself though, because his January decision making looks like it's going to cost us.

Like Hulk said above, we just have to go up next season really. The league is horribly weak, and we've got some talented players, and a talented manager.

I think we will find out more this pre season once the newness feeling of him and his of us has wore of a little than we did during the euphoria that was last pre season.

Unless we're talking about the very tight league this year, I wouldn't say it was that massive an opportunity.

Certainly from where we started in pre-season and where we were when Mcleish left the fact that we've even had a sniff of going up is an achievement in itself.

3 seperate managers have all done this - it says the squad may not be quite as decent as it appears.

cannot disagree Captain. I think close season and the potential signings to be made will tell us an awful lot about ambition, cash availability and what we can look forward to next season.

Whatever, I will be sat in my seat next season with hope, anticipation but mainly a massive hard on for the club!!!

    The majority, I would agree.

Too many of the remainder are just ignorant simpletons of the worst kind though.

Just sat here with a nice little slurp buzz on looking at the table and can't believe that were 8th. Looking back on the season as a whole, and all the shenanigans, and that's fucking mint. We've not got a Prem squad, we were potentially suicidal semen getting spunked up against shitsvilles shittiest shit-coloured wall last year, and we're lucky to have pushed so far forward in such a short space of time (again).

Absolutely no chance of being relegated this year and a slight sniff at the Prem. Quite simply a massive step forward.

Promotion has got to be the goal next year, Unless we remarkably did it this year, but has to be automatic, as don't think we'll ever go up through the playoffs. Doesn't mean it'll be any easier though, but the main thing is we just have to be more consistent, like Cardiff. I always thought we'd end up about 7/8th this year, but after mcleish debacle that will be somewhat of a welcome relief anyway

For me the Jury remains out on Fawaz and also on Billy.

I'm immensely relieved that we got someone in who seems to genuinely care about football and has the pockets to keep us afloat and competitive.

But all the big questions are yet to be answered. Has Fawaz got the strength to stay cool and simply back the club for another 2 even 3 seasons if that's what it takes to get us up? Has he got the patience to let Billy fail for a season or two like Paul Cox at Mansfield, especially if the fans turn? How will he handle the pressure from Billy in the transfer window? How committed is he if the club fails to take off in Kuwait as he'd hoped?

There are some very good signs, like the long term contracts signed by Cohen and Raddi etc. But there have been glimpses of madness is some of our dealings. I'm very content at the moment to wait and see, and I'm happy with the manager, but the one thing I said when we appointed Billy was that it was a case of when, not if, the two egos of Fawaz and Billy clash and sparks will surely fly.
