    Default Football League Trophy

Just watching highlights on BBC 1. Weird seeing Paul Smith at Wembley.

I was there with the Southend fans, Crewe were definitely the better side but Southend got no luck whatsoever. Paul Smith did alright but a lot of their fans say that he doesn't come off his line enough and they've conceded a lot of goals as a result of that apparently.

My friend is a Southend Season ticket holder, he has said over the course of this season that he has kept them in some games but also lost them others. Brilliant at shot stopping, but never coming off his line.

Always thought that if he could just improve that part of his game he could become a top top goalkeeper but too bad it was just too late for him

Last night Walsall booked their first trip to Wembley in 127 years. Good for them!

That list of teams that have played at Wembley more recently than Forest just keeps growing.

Heading into injury in the all important Southern Group B clash, Gillingham lead Reading B 6-5. The chap watching is going wild.

Depending which report you believe, Sunderland had either 3 or 7 fans among the 248 at their game with Grimsby the other night! Given their form this season I'm surprised that many bothered...

i stumbled across this very detailed bbc article about the English Football League Trophy

Personally I love all the cup competitions and hope the issues get resolved

This paragraph highlights the extremes of interest and potential of the competition ..

Coventry City, who ended up taking more than 43,000 fans to Wembley, attracted their lowest-ever attendance to a first-team game when only 1,338 spectators turned up for the second-round tie against Crawley Town.
