Why did he go to Yorkshire? Just seems random.

A quarter of the way into the County Championship season newly promoted Derbyshire are winless with 17 points. They are currently being soundly beaten by Sussex.

It looks like they are up against it to reach the 89 points they need to avoid becoming the worst team in Division One history.

Interesting read about Jimmy Anderson if like me you've not quite realised what a brilliant bowler he is.

Tutts will be sending his Butler round to thrash the Surrey XI when they get back.

    Default Stuart Broad

Class today destroyed the Kiwis in one of the finest displays of bowling for England in years. The Aussies must be shitting their pants for the upcoming Ashes.

    And so they should.

The bastards should fear the England team.

The bowlers are superb and the fielding is good. The batting line up is far from complete with just one Test until the Ashes.

Compton's tendency to get a start and then get out should be a concern. While Bairstow has played the odd good innings and is a promising player, he's not yet set the world alight. Root looks quality but is still a very young man.

I'd be tempted to move Root to open - he seems to be able to handle pressure - and drop Compton when Pietersen is fit again.

The good news for England is that the Aussies batting line up is a total mess.

Root opens for Yorkshire as well so would get my shout. Not been impressed with Compton since he's come in.

The Aussies are a shambles though. Their seamers are a threat, but Harris is already injured. Speaking to a few friends in Australia they are fearing a whitewash.

.. Cue the Aussies winning 5-0....

5 wins from 5 for Notts in the one day league. Best start record in the country (and Netherlands).

After a slow, & frankly worrying start, Notts seemed to have finale got going, espically in the 40 over game long may it continue. I'm looking forward to seeing Notts play the Netherlands in Cornwall when I'm on holiday there.

Notts have a lead of 354 over Sussex at Hove with one second innings wicket remaining going into the last day. Should be a cracking day to follow at work tomorrow.
