We need to play more cricket especially internationals in early May when the weather is so good

Notts throwing the semi-final in the bin.

Disappointed they chose to bat second and I really don't like Harry Gurney. I know he had his moments last couple of years, but I think when it really comes to it, he ends up getting spanked about. His theatrics this summer haven't helped his cause either.

Yeah it was good batting conditions this morning, strange to opt to bowl but I just think most teams prefer to know what they have to chase these days

Yeah I do agree on that concept usually.

But I just think with the top order we had, who are big hitters who like to score quickly, playing without the pressure of a chase gets the most out of them sometimes.

I know it's all psychological, but playing with the freedom that you don't know what par score is, seems like a better way than telling them they have to bang 7+ an over.

Just a much more beatable side without Pattinson in the team, unsurprisingly.

Bit the bullet and bought the NowTV stick yesterday. Feel dirty, but I can't be watching the WC and Ashes on dodgy streams.

It was odd that Fletch had the best figures by far but didn't get to bowl his overs.

Not sure they'll win anything with Mullaney as capt.

    My favourite bit from yesterday

Saw the England World Cup shirt today. It's beautiful.

Will be the first replica cricket shirt I get since the first PJ top Notts wore in Sunday League in the early nineties.

England just chased down 358 with 5 overs to spare & 6 wickets in hand

It's frightening how many big totals are made these days.

    They made it look easy.

    Without Buttler as well.
We do look pretty formidable with the bat.

I’m sensing a bit of over confidence Franco, we do look the business but you know we’ll probably lose the semi final to Australia in a super over

Don't care that World Cup's in our meeting room, and Australia don't have a fob.

Is there anybody who doesn't think England are weaker with Vince instead of Hales?

Looks like one from Willey, Plunkett and Wood misses out.

Then there's a choice between Dawson and Denly.

    Who you got?

Another massive England score on the cards today either way...

We are weaker with Vince rather than Hales but the decision has been made to punish him & we have stick with it, we’re not Australia who conveniently have their disgraced cheats back in time for the World Cup

For me Willey misses out because he wears an Alice band like a girl

Probably Dawson over Denly although not too worried either way

    That's a bit radical.

Cracking interview with Moeen Ali in today’s Guardian:

    https://www.theguardian.com/sport/20...e_iOSApp_Other

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

Just noticed Notts are playing on some park pitch on the Isle of Wight today.

The Liam Dawson selection seems odd, or at least the way it was done. He was hardly established, yet wasn't required to prove himself against Pakistan.

Denly was picked as a spin bowler, though he is batsman that bowls. And when it was decided he couldn't be picked as a spinner, Dawson seems to have been selected as default. It doesn't show a lot of confidence in Dawson either, as it is obvious had Denly bowled well against Pakistan he'd have been in and Dawson would have been out without England even giving him a chance to stake a claim.

Also wonder had England used Denly as the batsman he is, whether he might have had Vince's place. As Vince is there by default too, and did nothing really against Pakistan to earn his place.
